This site is a fan-made archive of metal lyrics across all subgenres. It covers everything from traditional heavy metal to more extreme and experimental styles, with the goal of preserving the words behind the music.
It is meant as a reference for fans, musicians, and anyone interested in exploring metal through its lyrics. While the focus is on metal, some borderline or closely related artists may occasionally appear. If something seems clearly out of place, feel free to contact us.
All bands, albums, and tracks are sourced from MusicBrainz, the open music encyclopedia. This provides the core artist, release, and track data used across the site.
Using a shared data source helps keep names, release titles, and track listings consistent, while also relying on a community-maintained database instead of isolated manual entries.
Some bands may appear here even if they are not strictly metal, especially in cases of crossover, experimental, or scene-adjacent styles where genre boundaries are not always clear.
If you believe a band has been listed by mistake, contact us with the band page link and a short explanation. We will review it and make corrections if needed.
This is a non-commercial, fan-run archive. All lyrics remain the property of their respective copyright holders.
If any rights holder wants content removed, they can contact us and the request will be reviewed.
This site depends on MusicBrainz for all artist, album, and track data. Because of that, new entries must already exist there before they can appear here.
If something is missing, the best approach is to add it to MusicBrainz first. Once it exists there, it can be used here.
If a song exists but does not yet have lyrics, you can submit them through the add lyrics button. Make sure they match the correct version of the song and are entered clearly and accurately.
Please avoid including commentary, translations, or personal notes inside the lyrics field, as the focus is on the lyrics themselves.
You can only add a band if it already exists on MusicBrainz, since artist data is synced from there.
If the band is missing, add it to MusicBrainz first. After that, it can be recognized and used on this site.
The album must already exist on MusicBrainz and be linked to the correct band. It should have a proper title, release type, and a track listing that can be verified.
If the album is missing, add it to MusicBrainz first before submitting it here.
If both the band and album exist on MusicBrainz, you can use the add flow on this site to locate the release and continue from there.
If you cannot find it, the release may be missing or not yet synced. In that case, adding or correcting it on MusicBrainz is the first step.
If you find incorrect, incomplete, or poorly formatted lyrics, you can submit a correction based on a reliable source such as official album materials.
Clear and complete corrections help keep the archive accurate and useful for everyone.
Some songs may not have lyrics yet because they have not been submitted or verified.
If you have access to reliable sources, you can help by adding the missing lyrics and contributing to the archive.
