Common questions answered
This site is a passion project and digital archive dedicated to metal lyrics across all subgenres. Whether you're into old-school heavy metal, technical death metal, symphonic black metal, or even avant-garde post-metal (yes, that exists), this site is here to preserve the words that give metal its soul. It’s more than just lyrics — it’s a tribute to the poetry, anger, sorrow, and defiance that define the genre. Whether you're studying your favorite band's themes or just trying to figure out what the growl in track 5 actually says, we’ve got you.
We strive to provide accurate lyrics, usually sourced from official album booklets, band websites, and trusted fan submissions. That said, metal vocals can get... gnarly. So while we aim for precision, we can't guarantee 100% accuracy for every line, especially when it comes to underground demos recorded in someone's basement in 1988. If you spot a mistake or know a better version, let us know. We're all about keeping the archive sharp.
We believe it is. This site operates under fair use principles and is intended for educational, research, and archival purposes. We do not offer downloads or claim ownership of the lyrics. That said, we respect the rights of artists and copyright holders. If you’re a band or publisher and would prefer your content not be featured, just contact us. We’ll handle it quickly, no drama.
Absolutely. We want this archive to grow with the help of the community. If there's a band you love that deserves a spot in the spotlight — whether they’re playing stadiums or garage gigs — send us a request. We prioritize accuracy and completeness, so the more info you can provide (album name, release year, tracklist), the better.

Yes, but only verified users can request new bands. The band must be considered metal and must be listed on MusicBrainz.org, as we rely on it to build our database of bands.
Only verified users can request albums. The album must be listed on MusicBrainz.org to be eligible for inclusion.
Go to the band’s page and click the Add Album button on the top right. You’ll see a list of albums from MusicBrainz. Albums already in our database will be greyed out. Select the album you want to add. If it’s missing from the list, we encourage you to add it directly to MusicBrainz.
