[Spoken I] As darkness descended upon his land, Crimson hue was spattered On the snow riddle field of white. There he laid upon the brink of death, The Walkyrie for him had not come... Torn, and battered was he, But the fire of vengeance in his heart Was still aflame. Though his flesh, it called for an end, The spirit of war, in him could not surrender! [Verse I] The warrior arose, awakened now From his nightmare riddled slumber. Visions of battle and memories of his slain Brothers sifted through his mind. He lifted himself up from the cold, Blood stained ground. In his heart again, the vengeance of Steel was found, and the pride of His Fathers forged in him the strength Of the Gods! [Chorus] His shield was battered, Rusted was his sword, Tattered was his armor. Wander did he through The frozen winterland. Lost and alone was he - He gazed upon the sky so grey In the Hall of shields now Were his lost brothers... Left behind was he by the Walkyrie Survive did he in the frozen field of blood. Strong was his spirit, mighty was his heart, Longing again to walk the path of victory! His homeland was then lost, Conquered by Christendom Was his once mighty King. By sword and fire the lives Of his kin were claimed. To this faith they did not heed, Vengeance kindled the flame In his heart! Wotan guided his battered spirit... Left behind was he by his enemy, Survive did he through the tyrant's march! Strong was his spirit, mighty was his heart. Vengeance shall he reap, This proud son of Wotan! [Verse II] Long and far he traveled, In search of Heathen lands But smoke filled the air, echoing The cries of once proud folk Who had given their lives. In the dark horizon the flight of ravens Could be seen, in hope he followed. Where they led him he did not know, He put his destiny into the hands Of the Gods... [Chorus] [Interlude] The raven's flight came to a forest There upon its stead stood A man clad in blue. Into the forest he followed, And to his calling the man Did not heed! In the depths of the darkened wood A fire could be seen. The flames were dancing upon The oaken grove, where a multitude Of men then stood before this fire so bright! [Spoken II] Heathen men, ten thousand strong Homage to the Gods had they paid. For victory the Gothi did bless. Runes upon their shields, Were carved and stained, Bright were there eyes for victory! Blessing from the Gods was Bestowed upon him, In ancient rite he had now partaken. Mighty now was his oaken shield, Gleaming was his sword, Shining was his armor! Upon his weapons again, he thus Carved and stained, the mighty runes Of victory...
