Words of Farewell
EP • 2021
Cradle this last remaining flicker of a once auspicious night While the city glow gives in Bestow This last honor on us restless and deplorable This faint desires for life laid bare right before your eyes To alleviate what sorrows still lie hidden deep in half light In our name dimly rise into the nearing day Therefore the moon held a funeral march across the sky Come eventide there shall be nothing left of us By virtue of vast cities drear Oh, so empyrean we'll soar Thence impervious and divine To journey onward, to get lost aloft When we saw with wistful eyes that joy had become tribulation Then we rejoiced for unto each of us a star was to be born Dimday was to fall and the pale orb would lead the way For us to twinkle in the dark, to be wanderers eternally Come eventide there shall be nothing left of us By virtue of vast cities drear Oh, so empyrean we'll soar Thence impervious and divine Though countless times we were greeted by his presence Not even death shall abide Until the hours nigh to say our farewells To depart and never be again Come eventide there shall be nothing left of us By virtue of vast cities drear Oh, so empyrean we'll soar Thence impervious and divine To journey onward, to get lost aloft

In a realm where life flows free and no reign is given I shook the coven from my eyes to inhale the dewy evening air To find long lost courage I beheld to cast a glance And let my soul slip away, beyond to pass Imprisoned I am no longer by these deceptive days I withdrew from life to discern my convictions For the longest time I had been afraid (Out here, in the vast of night) Reality comes apart at the seams (Out here, in the vast of night) A new fate begins to take shape For I am the one who is born of sleep – is born of sleep My consciousness no longer kept me afloat I submerged, saw the surface pass me by (pass me by) Beyond the dusky nightfall’s blue I drifted Where to roam only for me to determine A lucid dream state lured me in By slumber embraced I shall wake once more Giving in to all that had gathered on my eyelids Sweet languor overwhelming, wistful trance come onto me Heal my yearning, to let go of this waking world For in sleep I am reborn (Out here, in the vast of night) Reality comes apart at the seams (Out here, in the vast of night) A new fate begins to take shape We will not at death’s gate slip and fall But triumphantly dance around it all For time immemorial So just close your eyes to sleep, close your eyes Just let go... and drift into the deep So just close your eyes to sleep, close your eyes Just let go... and drift into the deep

In mourning we endured the cards that had been dealt We no longer opposed the deadening Our minds riddled by adversity as time began to move out of place It seems our efforts were worthless (they were worthless) in the eyes of them all (in the eyes of them all) Marking this the end of our plightful venture as there is no goodness left to cling to Lowering the flags on this once glorious day – my heart is slowing down This long goodbye is coming to an end So here we are at the end of the road It’s getting late now I can feel it’s time for us to leave ‘cause time waits for no one Not for you and, no, not for me This deep urge long lay dormant and still in the face of our inner light’s defeat It had become a funeral of smiles as I watched these hearts turn to stone... As I watched these hearts turn to stone... Lowering the flags on this once glorious day – my heart is slowing down This long goodbye is coming to an end So here we are at the end of the road It’s getting late now I can feel it’s time for us to leave ‘cause time waits for no one Not for you and, no, not for me When cries were met with silence and all hope went astray A last breath was drawn for it seems I have all but lost myself In today already walks tomorrow yet there is nothing worth remembering Have I ever felt so alive? Never have I felt so alive!

Long will you have forgotten the color of my eyes Ever since you learned that one day even love may die Long will you have forgotten the gravity of my smile By virtue of these childish dreams that we once had It seems still far beyond our grasp The serenity we have sought Avowing that old ties restraining Will never give way to beauty A wild strain once so full of ardor A heart broken by anguish and pain – let it be reforged For there is still time There is still hope In secrecy we thirsted for more than we had been given A place further than the universe came softly calling Pale are these summer colors, for agony muted their glow Like a burial shroud, dusk now covers these forlorn lands A wild strain once so full of ardor A heart broken by anguish and pain – let it be reforged For there is still time There is still hope See the shadows lengthen Falling across these downs The sun may burn dimmer this day But I can still see that glimmer in your eyes Misfortune will not last forever and darkness will come to pass For in every brave soul dwells the resolve to overcome In strife the resolute will not falter when the night conquers the day As you face the breath of the incoming dark I will guide your way Do not forget that through passion and desire fate shall smile upon you For there is still hope
