Forward went they, with weapons drawn Swiftly under linden-shields, Fervent were the fierce to battle. When for their blessed one did serve. That then shall come among the hordes, Hand-warfare, through spear grips might, Send forth his spirit and so come hither, To pave their way in deeds of spite. Then sharply did destiny arrive, When gilded edge came up to edge, To wither all of earth's creations, And sweep its ways now o'er her kin.
