I've seen the winds while turning to storms Beauty and tempest entwined In my hands I keep sand and dust Silently (they) witness the fall of empires Tell me, why do we long for the stars? Tell me if every dream of men is destined to an end Why do we long for the stars? Tell me if it is for they guide us in the night I've crossed lands where splendor used to dwell Found out decline came before Seen ruins instead of marble halls (And) golden thrones, the legacy of those days Wrought with dreams ceased to be Tell me, why do we long for the stars? Lost inside this lonely ship Heard the call of the sea Nothing but a will to see The seducing path of the unseen Gone astray by wandering Lonely shepherd of dreams I long for the poetry Of lands where time itself got still The wreck of hope... I've crossed the oceans of time and space Gone beyond the lands of men Landscapes drawn by higher hands Hurl me down beautitude It is for "Where pure grace ends The awe of the sublime begins" As I float away I think: "At last I became king A bunch of stars over me (An) infinite wilderness beneath" The wreck of hope...
