Banishment
I was uninvited into secrets of secrets And the only way was down and further down a groundless spiral And what do I know now that I didn't know before? What did I gain then by breaking into the house of gods? I've been banished from myself Always banished beyond help A mirror, a beacon And killing fields Want what you already have The past under another sun

Justified existence when a predator reveals the truth Any and all solidity, who must refute? Lie to get through the day Surround yourself with the hurt Tie them to your yoke, touch of devastation It must be for their own good Leave no stone unturned Want what you already have A million goods are never great Slavedriver, did I become you? I've seen it for myself

No longer want to know if there's something else Something that could have been if I could have had another life That I dream at night, every night It's all the same to me, it's catch and release And when I'm taken in the night A cliché, yet there really is a light At the core of everything There is something past the veil A mystery we should let be It's from where all things comе and go I've seen it for myself When it took mе from the depths And when I become something else I'll see it for myself

How many years? It's beside the point And what difference does it make? Indistinct memories, indistinct everyday But then what do I know? Except that I might not be human anymore And then the sun comes beating down on you What do we remember when we remember? Are you out there or are you in my head? And how will it be when I am finally dead? What do we remember? What do we touch with our minds? And what is forgotten when we dream at night of things that don’t exist? Who slips through my fingers? I don't exist
