The Earth Is the Sky
The air is getting thinner The long walk is getting to an end Nothing we do will keep the fires alive Nothing we do will last Elysium shines Blood and broken nails will be washed away by the rain In vain we try to carve something eternal into the mountains Jars filled with fireflies and ire Such a fragile light to guide us The ignorant will fail to see the path Fumbling, screaming and fighting Jar after jar breaks into darkness The fireflies leaves, the spleen stays Everything we love we leave behind Dead grasp Light's out I behold the broken world A storm rides the sky Pale explosions illuminates the time The age of violence is upon us

Too far The claws are deep in the flesh Too deep The roots are in the marrow Weary Death offers a release Come through As the sun ascends, the poison becomes healing Is it visible to the communion? The staggering, broken bones A fervent mouth is reaching for hope Shooting a silk rope at the brimstone sky Shedding skin A reptile gaze Staring at a box with no oxygen Open up and let it die while it still breathes While the moon crawls a sprout is born

Recurring relentless patterns Black antlers from the king Deep in vortex of thoughts Carving anxiety from the abyss A hook through astral planes A vessel pending in between Hallways of bones and memories Gold reversed in my palms A house of bricks and cancer Is always flickering inside Traverse the consciousness Sterile vanishing, leave no trace In here with me Nothing but the bitter weight Of memories A nest of splinters Making to escape

Some still believe in magic Higher meaning, a higher purpose and a celestial power Even at the brink of ruin they believe A man made doom A mushroom cloud created by our own hands, and yet still mankind Stands in awe, silently praying Staring at a nuclear light as if it were the Rapture … Like our demise would be the act of a god Mental ghosts passed on down, generation to generation Science is rejected, cities fall Governments start new wars, smoke screens Silent weapons for a cold war Information is power, power to take a life, information is free Morality, no longer is among us As another kick hits the broken bones Another bullet takes flight. Lights out Death shines like the only surviving star. Still they believe in gods Raise the flags of heresy, march towards the atomic light With the knowledge that we brought this upon ourselves Reject the gods, watch them burn. Do not trust that science Will save us—we used it to take us to the brink of apocalypse There are no gods. There are no kings. This is the end … And we are the vessels
