Hi, I'm pleased to tell you no lies There's something you can't buy And to your sorrow it couldn't come the gift You had for Christmas day I'm moving crosscurrent of time As you keep asking why You've got to take account of quite a nuisance You're not here to stay Wham! As for me, guys I'm about to get old tram Going from anywhere to any distant point People outside Even though I'm one of them In my universe our lines always be disjoint Through years and days I'm travelling to and from the glare I had gone too far I'd been tramping high and low Though all this time I stood still by the lake Where some ice bound bots were sleeping beneath the snow

Cursed Wet snow interspersed with rain Behind the pane, windowpane Sunk in search of the prey Sky hung oppressive and grey Who would pray for those who had to fall out of nests this day It seems like windows rise their bleared eyes up to the sky Where the passing spirits fly, One day they are all to gather In the shades of night Waiting on the other side, Mourning side Clouds are swirling around The earth Like heavy black shroud Of stillbirth Night is dimming the lights To hide the darkness inside My own mind I guess I have to fall out of nest This day Windows rise their bleared eyes up to the sky Where the passing spirits fly, One day they are all to gather In the shades of night Waiting on the other side, Mourning side

It was just as well A June day's such a long The young grass maddening smell Kite flies high alone Above a low green swell And time is thick as pitch One could hear from the pond A faint creak of oars It's calling us to reach The better other shores, It's calling us to run... Two bottles on the bench My beer wormed by the sun There's not a single cloud A kite flies and I would A pebble in my boot Too lazy to shake out While kite was flying high What did we talk about? The summer had gone by And so had I

Careless early days, Hometown streets and friends, Actors picked the roles Many different ways Seemed to have no ends, But the curtain falls Calm and cozy yards, loved places, Homely voices and friends' faces You had always been a part of me, We had almost disappeared But some time we were here We were genuine as we could be Now it's late I shell make my farewell It began to get dark Mirrored in the sky Last tram had gone by Rain has covered the park

Faith leads treason By the hand They won't be late Days and seasons Come and go on dial-plate Patiently the clock keeps count Of the years we play it safe, Welcome us and see us out From the cradle to the grave Counting out time, turning round, Knowing no rivals or friends Quietly you watch our lives passing out Under your hands We must dig in Water wears out a stone Clocks are ticking, Stealing minutes one by one, Pulsing in time to my thoughts While I ask myself once more: What for am I held afloat? Why do I live through it for? Counting out time, turning round, Knowing no rivals or friends Quietly you watch our lives passing out Under your hands
