Scenes from Yonder Life
Like a punching bag with nothing left inside A cold barren wasteland personified No matter what I do It will never be enough How much more can you take From the Hollow Man (hollow man) How much more till you break The Hollow Man (hollow man) Like a dead horse, being beaten still I want to speak up, but I know I never will As long as I live and breathe I’ll do the best that I can How much more can you take From the Hollow Man (hollow man) How much more till you break The Hollow Man (hollow man) From the Hollow Man Can’t run from the emptiness you feel Nowhere else could ever be as real No matter what I do It will never be enough Never be enough How much more can you take From the Hollow man (hollow man) How much more till you break The Hollow man (hollow man) How much more can you take From the Hollow man (hollow man) How much more till you break The Hollow man (hollow man)

You always tried to see the end of things How it would all end in flames Embracing the sadness of the never lasting Dwell within to find the one to blame Romantic visions of dying friends and foes Epic scenes from a classic tragedy Brooding drives you deeper to truths within Or does it just bring agony? Yet now that you stand here How does it feel? Isn’t this what you wanted? All the years you spent longing for something to happen The Great Tragedy and how you’d soldier on When will it end? When will you be satisfied? Yet now that you stand here How does it feel? Isn’t this what you wanted? Isn’t this… Isn’t this what you wanted? Isn’t this… Isn’t this what you wanted? Isn’t this… Isn’t this what you wanted? Isn’t this… Isn’t this what you wanted?

It washes over me A lachrymose embrace A flowing epiphany That stains my weary face Ride the waves, the waves of tragedy Ride the waves, the waves of tragedy Now I see water rising A merciless typhoon To drown all comprising Consuming all too soon Ride the waves, the waves of tragedy Ride the waves, the waves of tragedy Ride the waves, the waves of tragedy Ride the waves, the waves of tragedy

How could I ever explain? I would just let you down again Wasting words on that which can’t be changed I would just let you down again Oh, the secrets we contain retain A maze of thoughts that has no end Born alone to live estranged I would just let you down again How could I ever explain? I would just let you down again Wasting words on that which can’t be changed I would just let you down again Crashing down – no one is spared And the secrets of your soul you’ve left them bared Tearing up – as life implodes Left in the wreckage from the overload How could I ever explain? I would just let you down again Wasting words on that which can’t be changed I would just let you down again The lies we entertain To keep our minds somewhat sane As lies and truth soon interchange It is all that will remain
