I always wondered just what it would be like I would not go willingly, I'd fight it tooth and nail But here in this moment, clinging to life I realize all my struggling is to no avail I am cowered before you Your presence is so frightening I can sense your power Is my life over? There are a million things to do in life And I'm tempted to try them all There's a million paths to bitterness If you go at it like a wrecking ball Look around At all of those I affect Can I learn to live with The lingering impact? We get one life And we all must decide Which master rules the day Through laughter and tears I pray that in my later years I won't regret the choices made Conflicting passions pulling me apart Can't do it all, I must decide If feelings get hurt along the way Hope it's enough to apologize

Living with heartache and disappointment Tears at the fabric of a soul All the best plans quickly laid to waste By unforeseen things beyond control Broken down, cursing, face to the sky Demanding answers with no reply It’s not a matter of who or where or why only a matter of time Misfortune comes our way There are only two choices, quit or try and you must decide Outlast the pain and you’ll be cleansed by fire once again Within the dire throws of agonizing loss It’s hard to believe it will ever end Struggling to accept this painful new normal and wishing your old life was back again But there’s a strength that’s from inside An inner voice screams do or die
