Where Sunlight Goes to Die
Frozen! The night's yet to come are endlessly black That unknown is the edge of the dark... DARK! Now it has come, the world runs astray And no beacon's alight, anywhere in play They who knew not what the stars had to say The encompassing night cannot bear the day Naught of the days that depart Now full is the oncoming night Vengeance has darkened my heart And in horror my lips are shut tight You search for beams of pale sulphur Upon an unstained meadow ground While attention is strained ahead I pull at an almost invisible thread Life is now empty, bottomless and senseless Advance to battle, ancient DOOM! Enamoured and triumphant Sounds the last horn in faceless gloom... And sunlight goes to die!
