Looking up above the trench I see the smoke rising In the horizon Will this be my last day here Or maybe I will Live To see another day? As this infernal symphony Starts to fill my ears I run through the rain Of bullets and hellish pain The firestorm surrounds me Steel and death supremacy ...but still alive Or have I reached eternity? The thought has crossed my mind As I saw this man on the ground He looked so peaceful Surrounded by his blood Suddenly a movement From his lips Stopped me He said ”Please let me die” In search for euthanasia He asked for a bullet through his head I cannot kill this man Though he’s in agony In desperation he turned to me He had lost his strength to kill himself And end his misery These visions of horror. here’s my death Suddenly, I see the enemy It’s a call that I must obey It will be a great joy to die today I will sacrifice myself for something higher This brutal solution is my only desire ”As the ceremony took place I drank the sake drops ...and the headband was tightened” Let’s die!
