Never Quite Dead
All saints and sinners Instill the young minds with the fear of evil ways All the while cloaked in infamy There are fiends, there are liars High as their spires Washed in fabled lore Just how dark the night of history? All saints and sinners Gazing from on high at the mortals down below Carved into stone cathedral walls. As they pray for relief, fee of grieving souls that fill the tombs. Lock the door and throw away the key All saints and sinners Revere the thousands Who have lived such holy ways Ignore the countless holy wars And the sinners that died fighting for glory of divinity So, the wheel keeps turning ever more All saints and sinners All feasts and famines Miracles and prophets of doom Curses and lightning Heretics fleeing All saints and sinners

Liston church now stands forlorn, silhouetted against the skies Its dwindling congregation, has left the church to die The dogma that spans a thousand years is coming to an end And a force much greater than their faith, has returned to wreak revenge The Church is now a lifeless form, For echo of the past When its authority was unquestioned, An ideology they thought would last God is the power it wielded, through churches countrywide Once all knew the pious grandeur, hide hypocrisy inside The Sanctuary of the buttress wall, now offers no rest bite Gives them no protection, from the wraths that rule the night Shadowy forms now embrace the dark, To roam the land once more Yew trees circle the crumbling walls, to keep the witches from the door Control the masses, Control their minds, Control what they think and you Control their lives Control their fears From birth to the grave Follow the gospels if you want to be saved But the fear of the coven rules the land Now smitten down by a mighty hand The teachings of the old ways within the ring of stone Which for centuries have lain sleeping, now rise to take the throne Man, and earth are now as one, the way it was meant to be, What was once called superstition, has finally set them free

As darkness falls, and the mist rolls in From the rivers deserted shore Seeping down the alleys, Between the grim walls To fill that overgrown churchyard once more That's how I remember, those long winter nights all those years ago And of the children, that feared that old graveyard, and the lady that dwelt below Wrought iron railings surrounds the tomb That marks her resting place Shrouded in trees and undergrowth Hidden from sight, where she silently lies in wait

Just a mention of her name To a child would conjure fear So, who would dare to climb the grave When 12 o'clock was here To climb the tomb at midnight, As the church clock strikes the hour Was the bravest thing you could ever do In the eyes of a nine-year-old child Madame M'Rachael's grave Echoes from my past A fear I've had since childhood I never thought would last Madame M'Rachael's grave Etched within my mind But now I see her through adult eyes She used to haunt me all my life Madame M'Rachael's grave Waiting in the gloom An erected monument to the dead An edifice of doom Madame M'Rachael's grave Hides herself from the light As she walks the churchyard all alone In the middle of the night

There are times in life when you feel so low, it reaches far beyond pain If it shakes your world when you realize things will never be the same again The feelings you thought, would change your life, and stand the test of time Come crashing down, like broken dreams, to lie shattered on the ground You work so hard, to start again, to put the anguish of the past behind To rebuild a sense of purpose, and find some piece of mind But your life has been changed forever, no matter how you try The past still returns to haunt you, the past won't eternally lie Oh, some say time can heal all pain, and time can do so much But can it mend what might have been that lies trampled in the dust Some people have a cross to bear Oh buried deep within their minds, But its weight is always governed, by the hurt it leaves behind

A world stripped of its colour devoid of love and hate. There's no one left to stand before St Peter's pearly gates. To see the chaos man has wrought, Brings havoc to his brain. The few that's left on judgement day, Have been acquitted as insane! A silent world of shapeless things, of torn and twisted form. Man sits amid the wreckage waiting vainly for the dawn. The glory of man has come and gone, A broken shattered dream. The only sound to rent the air, Is a stifled choking scream! Blindness follows darkness man awaits impending doom. His mind lies dead, to arise no more, no awakening from the gloom. Lost amid the twilight world Of never ending night He needs no more his senses, Least of all he needs his sight! The chariots of fire rode roughshod through the world. Men of vision stood ridiculed, seen but never heard! Cries of disillusionment, Drowned by mans desire. The need for mass destruction, Fuelled the raging fire!

I've been living in darkness, oh for so long it's hard to say what it feels My mind has been shuttered and trapped in a shroud, caged like a bird until... Then you came, to awaken my feelings again Out of the shadows and into the light, showing my face to the sun My thoughts fly free I can smile again Through open fields I can run Then you came, you awakened those feelings again Then you came, To awaken those feelings again Brown eyes, so softly smiling, puts fire in my soul A love that I've harbored so long, has found a love of its own No more without fear, for the rest of my life No more, will I feel so alone You'll always be there when I need you I won't be here on my own Brown eyes, so softly smiling, puts fire in my soul A love that I've harbored so long has found a home of its own No more will I fear, for the rest of my life, No more will I feel so alone Youll always be there, when I need you I won't be here on my own.
