Yes, I had a dream: Desert sand as far as I could see and all around me dead kangaroos jumping, and from their pouches emerged their infants - bloated, expanding - leaking sludge Beneath the burning sun I stand amidst the mad dance of the beasts and I had a machete and I beheaded the frenzied creatures But they continued to jump Their open necks were like fountains and I shed my cloths, to bathe... Yes, I had another dream: I was in a hospital in the maternity ward I walked between rows of crying newborns And from their mouths emerged snakes - bloated, expanding - digesting rodents... I'm awake no longer dreaming and I'm holding a rubber duck that looks like a werewolf and his hair like a wild boar and it is singing to me and I'm standing ankle-deep in urine and I am bathing...

I remember needing the money because I didn't have a home And they needed a subject for an experiment They paid me well... then put me to sleep And I dreamt that someone held a flame on the back of my legs - behind the knees - or so it felt But the I remembered being knee-deep in venomous spiders someone was just draining the pus... And I dreamt that the flame moved to my groin It felt as though someone was running a razor along the underside of my penis... But then I remembered the many injections they made - just about my groin - thought I was healing... But then my chest began to burn It felt as thought many hands were prying it apart - because they were... At night, by candle light She prays to a god who has no eyes to see with and who has no ears to hear with, a god that does not exist... My aunt prays, because she can't stop eating meat... And she is beyond obese Her flesh is like the hide of a leprous hippo, and still she prays to nothing I watched her sew her mouth shut Then minutes later she pulled out the stitches to devour a glazed ham... I remember when she had me lock her away without food... After only two days she escaped She devoured her neighbor's aged dog - down to the grizzle stripped to its bones... I came up with a new way for my aunt to lose weight... I painted her grotesque body with a mixture of honey and sugar and had her sit upon an anthill... I realized there would be some pain, but I never thought that the ants would cultivate her body I never thought her tissues would be their soil... Her flesh... their home... (I've just returned from going mad, and I've kept the farm and finally, after all these years, my aunt is finally losing weight.)
