Horns upon a Haunted Throne
The darkness dwells deep inside of me, A shattered lie in the mirror, The moonlit sky seems to linger above me, A hollow world beneath it’s glare, My soul is broken, a flash of red, Self-inflicted scars beneath my skin, My lungs are burning with this poison air, Condemned to dwell amongst the damned. The time has come on this blackest night, Horns upon my haunted throne will rise, I lost my way and gave in to hate, To appease the beast, usurped the throne, Midnight descends upon the chamber hall, And I wonder how far I might go, To see an end to the dying light, And the demon that haunts this world. There is no Satan or God, Only this empty heart, Lost with the hopeless who die to escape the pain, There is something growing inside, And deep within the broken I know, The need to overthrow the horns on the throne, In the mirror I see her face, The child who needs me to be whole, But still I am bound to the haunted throne. Break, the chains that bind me, Take my life, it just won’t heal, I can’t see her face in my nightmare, strike me down, Break, the chains that bind me, Take the life inside me, I can’t escape the shadow of these horns, I must be free. There is something growing inside, And deep within the broken I know, The need to overthrow the horns on the throne, In the mirror I see her face, The child who needs me to be whole, But still I am bound to the haunted throne. Break, the chains that bind me, Take my life, it just won’t heal, I can see her face in my nightmare, strike me down, Break, the chains that bind me, Take the life inside me, I must escape the shadow of these horns, I will be free. The horns remain upon my haunted throne, And midnight descends upon the land, Bound to my demon king once again, And yet the mirror haunts my soul, The time has come on this blackest night, Summon the sword a flash of red, Still my lungs burn in the poison air, I must rise up from the dead.
