The Spiral

Desecrated years precede this descent These roots go deep And this plunge is a drop down forever Screams in the hallways Like echoes of distant past Freefall awaits Whispers guide my way They are becoming louder Take my hand And walk this downward path You and I, together We shall put up walls so tall Nothing can ever pierce our defences Together we can build a fortress around us Retreat inside And shut down our senses in slumber Take my left hand For I am the terror living in you Rest Your head Lose to nothingness Spiral out of All control Is lost As you gaze All the way deep down Shimmer of light fading away As we delve into the sludge Under all living things Nothing can hurt us Strengthen these walls Barricade all doors No need to look back up We will remain here stagnant forever
