To Mantle the Rising Sun

Emerged From the depths of the earth, I saw Emptiness and stillbirth. This cage of a world runs deep, Confined yet limitless. It seems like no one has been On the other side. This mind is not my own, Pierced by orders unknown. (A haunting purpose arises) Like the ice to bind the rivers below, Like a tyrant to reign supreme, We are born from the gloom of dawn, To one father of darkness and cold. Through the ages as distant as God, Across all the bridges undone, We climb upon the edge of the sky, To mantle the rising sun. With fire and brimstone We will crush the unbowed. (Beware of our father's wrath) Like the ice to bind the rivers below, Like a tyrant to reign supreme, We are born from the gloom of dawn, To one father of darkness and cold. Grey angels still harrow The wounds of the broken. This tempest of sorrow Deforms the emotion. Deaden to own will, We submit to that of one Father. Yet some struggle still For the truth, heading for His castle. Empty eyes stare at the sun, Bleak skies, herald of grief. Grey angels move as one, The eclipse sows the seed. Our pain is their ultimate possession. Crippled mind to cripple flesh, An exhibit of the tyrant's vice. By the hand of the sick Veiled as just, disguised as wolves. So, your spirit has risen, For the temperance no longer counts. Now the blood in your veins Boils up, grants the courage to fight. The last glimpse of hope Portrayed as master of this world. The realm led astray By one superior. As I stand before the throne, As I speak the just words, He breaks out in a grin, Casts a spell onto me. The bright ray of light Emits from the core of madness. Turns my heart to stone, Confronts with my own darkness. My skin turns grey, The wings break out, I fly towards the light, To mantle the sun.
