Where All of Worth Comes to Wither

Welcome to this pathetic festival A celebration of the spiritually pale Where all of worth comes to wither And flourishing itself is cursed to fail Where cold disjointed shades and spectors Pursue and burn each other at the stake Indulging in an ill spirited jubilance In pursuit of both ecstasy and pain Where cruelly contorted apparitions Glare meekly out from sullen eyes And that which was once luminiferous Within them has altogether died Where rapacious bodies wildly pulsate To rhythms both intangible and deranged Or relegate themselves unto submission And lay prostate in wretchedness and shame Welcome to his pathetic festival A celebration of the spiritually pale Where all of worth comes to wither And flourishing itself is cursed to fail To revel in this great discomfort One need not take action to prepare But merely relinquish one's vitality And acquaint oneself with panic and despair To traverse through the plain of entry One must don a pallid masque Tightly cowl oneself in enmity And in misfortune one must bask To partake in this vast festivity One need only find themself within its walls And herein lies a perverse solidarity As one must come to exist at all

With the primeval anger of a dying star Forever burning yet unable to catch fire Utterly decrepit, yet it shall not relent An interminable maelstrom of wretched intent A directionless violence feeding back on itself Irreconcilably murmuring Caught in between life and death Corporeal vistas fell just outside my grasp And so it was that bound myself Upon the trajectory which would be my last I was taught throughout my life to eschew despair But as the curtain drew back it revealed to me that here was nothing Twas as though a yoke I'd long carried laid burst into flames Yet godless as I'd become, ultimately, deceased I remained In desperate pursuit of that which would never transpire And destined to languish in the perpetual mire I cried out for the absolution beyond To that old effigy, the ineffectual god ANd travelling along the only path I'd ever known I stepped out across the grand and ghastly threshold Anticipating a profound delivery from harm Whereas nought but the abyss awaited me with open arms Endlessly writhing In wretchedness amidst the plains Though volatile corridors Spiralling out of the grave

I lay, wreathed in great unpleasantness Ensnared, amidst a fate spun of wretched thread Blessed be this crown of anguish That has found its home upon my head I am stuck, transfixed with undeniable pain I am withering and on the way to death I am nothing if not human Yet I drift beyond all form For grief has utterly devoured me whole My mind and body lay destroyed A panicked heart beating the darkness Irrevocably atrophied and on the verge of decay I am nothing if not human Yet I drift beyond all form For grief has utterly devoured me whole My mind and body lay destroyed Blessed be this crown of anguish From my brow it now shall never stray For all that remains of me is suffering And once I perish it shall perch upon my remains

It began when I first sorely felt A absence in the sky A singular atrocity Which resonated all throughout my life Initially the dearth was noticed To nigh on minimal extent But nothing is more poignant now Than the magnitude of its ill portent In time the stars grew subservient To constellations unknown And so too did I transform into Something bestial and disgusting to behold I reveled in perversities Which disbarred me from the church What could not be found in heaven I pursued upon the earth I squandered friends and family Through gross mismanagement of wealth And when they withdrew their charity I spat curses upon their health Eventually I divorced myself From that which is sociable and sane And ultimately in the eyes of all I reached irreparable disdain Twas under burden of this knowledge And in pursuit of a fresh start That on a loathsome raid night excursion I was driven to depart Pallid and somnambulant And utterly alone I stumbled out into obscurity And in search of a new home But no sooner had I left the town And its sanctuary behind Was I struck by utter darkness Emanating from the sky With wretched arms outstretched before me I stumbled through the gloom Desperately seeking respite From the omnipresent doom Finally abandoned by my resolve To maintain a human form On towards my destination I began to slowly crawl Writhing on my belly With dour compulsion as my guide I passed the threshold of the cemetery And slithered clandestinely inside Now quietly I lay here Upon the fetid earth Still beneath the sky midst which Something wayward is astir But the lack of godly presence It harrows me no more I've found and abhorrent path by which Providence can be restored Adorned in broken fingernails Discolored by the ground My fingers violently strike the dirt Neath which my salvation can be found For the corpses are forthcoming And shan't hesitate to share When I borrow into their domain They'll bring an end to my despair
