In Yearning, Alive
Sorrow is nights companion Moonlight casts the unknown A starlit course of solemn remorse For the journeys we face alone From all that I was Slowly drifting apart Replaced by a fire Like the heat That quickens my heart By clandestine whispers Passing through leaves Reveal private passage Within the rings of the trees I shed this mortal coil Toward feral rebirth The cloak of night now glowing In the cloud of unknowing What fills it deep within The clutch of sorrow Clasping us again To dream without fear The night called me here To boldly survive In yearning, alive Beyond the mountains horizons Where moonlight touches the stone By candle flame, these secrets remain Over lands where starlight has shone To run wild at night And breathe deep the air Revel in wondrous nature Beyond all compare Can you hear the starsong? Or feel the vespertine spell? The momentary glint As the stars danced and fell A paralyzing fear Seeing those you loved Lying lifeless here An absence within No fiercer emptiness inside In yearning, alive
