Killing Time
EP • 1991
I spent so much time Keeping dreams alive Dreams I knew were lies So much time Wishing things could stay the same While others dodged the game I spent so much time It kept me down While others were making ground So much time As much as I could borrow Never thinking about tomorrow And I don't know why

They said I'd start to calm down Didn't want to find out they were right Dying ain't much of a living Even if the pay is right And I don't think I'd really mind myself If it took a while 'til I found something else Whole lotta nuthin' Whole lotta nuthin' going on Was talking to a friend of mine That I could never understand He told me he was getting married Wanted me to be his best man So I took him out last night but I must admit I spent most of the time trying to talk him out of it Whole lotta nuthin' Whole lotta nuthin' going on My father thinks my mother raised a fool I guess I should be going back to school At least I'd have an excuse to last another year And hopefully enough time to make it out of here

You got a head full of ideas That ain't doing you no good And a handful of doubts That keeps you knocking on wood And even though I really thought it would It doesn't drive you mad Since there's no one around To make your bed no more You just grab your pillow And sleep on the floor And even though I never seen you do that before You say it doesn't feel so bad I know indecision isn’t a sin But wherever your going don’t forget where you been It's a game I never thought I'd be losing in But I feel fine And even though I really thought it would And even though I never thought you'd do this before
