Teddy was a little kid, he played cowboy and Indian games Like everybody else. He left school, went out to search for a good place to work Like everybody else. Teddy couldn't grab a job, got tired of hustlin' round, Started wondering what’s happenin' now. One day he went down the pub, Saw a rock band on stage, Got an itchy feeling not to stay, Not to stay any longer with that ordinary crowd. He bought himself a guitar, Looked out for a crew, Wanted to be a big rock star, And jam the whole day through. Teddy is now Ted, left his mother's home, He lives in the biggest town of the land, Plays every night, every night with his band. By and by, hits flying part, Always number one in every single chart, He's on top, [...] He acts on stage so goddamn well, 'Cause he's learn to do what people like, Gets everybody feeling out of sign.
