To what do we pledge our loyalty? Are we good stewards of a sacred land? It feels like we’re hollow There is no life inside of us We are the children become prodigal Call us out of sleep No fealty to God One prophet said we’ve killed Him No fealty to land We’ve severed our connection Please tell me who we are Forsaken or divine We’ll die before we wake if we can’t recover Call us out of slumber For time is running out to waken from this living nightmare We can restore the damage that we’ve done With humble heart in hand Balance me Does our wrath know any boundary? Can we so easily be bought and sold? It moves me to sorrow that we are so persuadable We are lost sheep without a guide Call us from the wild No fealty to blood The family tree is burning No fealty to crown The system is inverted

Grab the reins and ride into a wondrous land We will stake a claim and build our hallowed Eden Holy land Into the unknown, we carry a torch Ride into the unknown We stumble and fall Fight both nature and man Subduing the countryside Sawtooth peaks above scrape the violet sky Rivers down below hug the valley walls I wasted too many years in obedience Pursuing a life that was never mine Grant me… Merciless, the trials of a frontier life Sowing seeds of pain you hope will one day feed you Reap and sow Into the unknown, we carry a scythe Ride into the unknown We thunder and rise Fight nature and man Subduing the countryside Grant me life! Run from a broken system run by the upper class Wilderness and freedom Cry for the road before me Cry for the wake behind Wilderness and bloodshed Golden plains and emerald fields I'm one with the world when I'm here Smashed low Valley and thunder High are the walls above Valley and thunder Cry

Embers ignite behind the hills And darkness retreats across the plains She wakes to crooning songbird trills, And lives these rhythmic life refrains Yearning to live a life apart Go forth and find your paradise Searching for somewhere worth her song Go forth and find your paradise Mornings spent by her mother's side And nights with daddy by the fire Here no laws do we abide We take no more than we require My prairie jewel I’m coming home

Call from the future where nothing is new Hear me Fall from the mountaintop down below Heal me The wilderness is purchased, all farmland is state-owned No frontier still defies us You'll be safe You will feel no pain One mind could change our thinking One hand could swing the hammer And change the status quo It is a miracle of life Seasons never change It is a miracle of love Though you know there will be pain It is a miracle of life Born in a world that's merciless Spare him Live in a time that's defined by hate Spare her Where are our noble rulers, our sense of justice? When did we trade our freedom, our will to risk our lives for love Reclaim our stubborn defiance Revive our living traditions Reclaim our independence Revive the spirit of mankind

Drinking whiskey by the candlelight My son explained how he came back home and found his wife in their bed with a man He let them go but now wants to hear what I would have done In my stupor I spoke too much, and said I would have shot him to death Soon after he got his chance Beat him raw and shot his wife dead Weeping willow My family tree Weeping willow My shame is profound Their blood is on my hands as well My anguish burns Let it go! Tracked him down, arrested him All your life now in this shadow You’ll pay the debt I swear to bring him to account My anguish burns Let it go!
There's a power in the Ghost Dance And white men who recognize power, they know that hope can inspire more than words, but action – fire Evil beyond There's a light, it's crimson Evil beyond There's a light to find you My need to bleed My thirst, perverse The land is full of scars, depleted and sour No hope, we turn to hear the prophet Imperial Fading light Imperial The sacred tree is dead The hoop is split, our nation scattered and gone My dreams of hope, and unity fade Sweep all evil from this fated land Bring all people in with love and faith Unity for all God’s children

Two men waiting in an upper room One is drawing to pass the time While the other clenches his watch He knows his time is short There’s one final thing he must do The man he’s sat across Must be brought to justice at last While others have died or run This rancher would see it done Is it for money he risks it all, To pay his family’s crippling debt? The criminal stares him down Perplexed by his stubbornness His gang scattered all the rest In their ruthless pursuit to free him Five minutes until the train Both men stand in unison The rancher knows death awaits The gang is waiting with hired guns The rancher has much endured Hard times and indignities It’s not for money he risks it all, He wants to make his boy proud again Stubborn defiance, a grim resolve He’ll get it back, everything Stubborn defiance, a grim resolve He’ll never yield til he’s through Hold your smile in my heart He’ll push through fire and withering iron Hold your smile in my heart His son’s respect meant everything Hold your smile ‘til I’m gone He’ll never yield unto his demise Hold your smile ‘til I’m gone His son’s respect meant everything Hold my lesson in your heart It’s worth my life, this restoration Hold my lesson in your heart No price too high to reclaim father’s love
Cry for a land that's scarred and polluted Cry for a people scattered, uprooted Serve an elite who see you as chattel Serve in a silent war for the country's soul We're cut adrift, divided and hostile We're storyless, no vision that's common We had a dream but never woke up to act on it We had a good future to build I'm working hard to power through My place in life and what is true Holy father, set me free Let it end, my destiny Take the scrolls and break the seals Let it end, our destiny Concord reigns Cry We live in a gorgeous land and have more than most men can But still many live like free range slaves, alas! I heard singing in the trees, the voice of a dove Beauty will restore the world Rolling hills and ivory peaks Who we are is in the land Blood in changing tides Dead in growing piles Blood It's boiling and floods from the entrance Blood on either path Dead, the past we hold Blood We'd dip our hands into the cauldron Blood rains from the sky Dead, half buried, raw Blood from gaping wounds Cries from the children

See the child, he’s pale and meager He stokes the fire in pre-dawn darkness The stars fell when he came into the world This child was born in blood His lovely mother died the night when he was born And daddy’s former warmth was chilled by drink and scorn Deep in his heart, a taste for mindless violence began to grow He ran away and wandered far from home ‘til he fell into a life replete with cruelty Yet there was a part of him that yearned for something greater than this Has God abandoned us? I hear nothing but silence Am I a force for good? We know nothing but evil Redness in the sky The flaming tree will burn forever Redness in the sky We’re drowned in blood with each meridian Implicit with the coming apex The fall is written on the wall Would he succumb and give into the blood lust Or rise above and kill the Judge, that mystic lord of war? God has made a path for you to leave and then come back So meet your fate and dance with him Take the stage and slay the Judge This night thy soul may be required The choice is yours to dance or die
