We all scratch at the walls, Trying to get some kind of grip In hopes of finding our way out of the fog, And have our eyes be graced by the vivid brightness The beauty that lies outside the boundaries This docile valley struggles to breathe, Void of reality, And complexed by depression The water still rises just as a string section This music for the first time has hit my ears This never changing life, I must erase, Determination gleaming in my eyes like tears, I believe this is the first time I’ve seen my real face, Please believe Let your true colors be your guide, For you are the only resident of your mind Together lets escape these still waters, Let this current flow no more Turn out its light and shut the door.

Desire for your embrace, Enchantment takes hold, Leaves me gasping for air Tonight while I slumber ‘neath the silent hum, Mere footsteps speak of splendor, tomorrow bring my love to me Pale skin shimmers in the night, Eyes close with wonder, arms caress with tenderness, Your body is mine tonight Together we rise, Neath the moonlit sky, Fixated on the darkness Echoes that no longer return, Carry on to be lost and never heard again The strongest foundation begins to crack Lay beside you motionless in he moonlight You still sleep with thoughts benign Ghost of a man inside, left behind Empty of form and removed of shape, Bounded by grey In the distance a voice is faintly heard, I see you walk away and never return again.

If my eyes were as blind as you said they are, Then where am I going? Am I following a misdirected view of purpose? I’m strangled by the overwhelming sense of the foreboding Behind the essence of time, here I lie These blinders have not yet shaped my sight, This illumination will save me yet Sometimes I’ve been mistaken for the barely alive, but not this time When I feel like I carry the weight of the world I only see further.

We’ve followed these set paths for far too long, And our feet grow weary of the familiar Our minds strive for a conduit of expression, Yet we shiver in the cold, Alone in the darkness When we reach for the stars, They only seem further away, But that never stopped us and today is our day With these shadows revealed, Our reflection is finally true This time we will never stop reaching, Until we are consumed by the light, Inching our way from darkness to forever escape its cold bite In a place of peace is where we shall be, For the rest of our days This is our creation in every way.
