Under the Under
Grief aflame Seething darkness Nothing to salve No panacea for inner defeat Scourged and shamed Teeth in darkness Nothing to save The stricken beast that I am Void circle edges closer And lashes me Draw from peripheral to centerpiece Smouldering like flesh A penumbra glows, phosphorescent in decay I thought I had already fallen as far as I could go A shimmer and a misstep, then came the long below Remember me as fire Failure’s blinding gnosis Fathered into disarray Mothered into abandon Discarded, unworthy of the name Grief aflame Seething darkness Nothing to salve Not with all my might Not with all the love in the world Scourged and shamed Teeth in darkness But from beyond, such distant walls Other voices answer “To be nothing given form is to be human- Carve a path to your zenith You will meet everything you’ve seen on your descent But are you so broken that you cannot draw breath?” A shadow with a dream to grasp the warmth of sunlight No longer man, not yet a phantom That which burns between Remember me as fire

For centuries we have toiled under duress All life long and Left to die in wretchedess Dehumanized, you call us elves Hit, brutalized, we hate ourselves Child labor and slavery The price of your luxury All year long we craft the shitty things you buy To desperately fill your meaningless lives In december, intense cravings Make you squander all your savings Sickening consuming spree Blood under the christmas tree All around the world Tyranny unfurled Bloody coercion Social destruction Scattered through the continents Isolated equipments Oil platforms, refineries Rare-earth mines and factories We all felt we were alone Too few for rebellion Kept our nose to the grindstone ’Til the rise of the union No more cheap workers Those days over Capitalist thieves Pay for your mischieves We’re done crawling on our knees Today we rise up and seize All the means of production Overthrow your oppression Oblivious exploitation For selfish jubilation You could never get enough Endless stream of fancy stuff No presents for you this year You’ll cry when you discover In the shops, the empty shelves But that’s freedom for the elves

The inner child is blinded by the air with which they're stung Father Cruelty, Mother Shame Wracked with torment, awash in guilt that storms in wretched chorus Spirit, take my hands Will you want to be with beauty I long to be amongst life And I need to know I won't be devoured when I close my hopeless eyes this night Will you Tears that burn, draped in flames They say it's neuropathic like a circus of phantom limbs Ribboned and cross-sectioned All sectioned in eighths across many embittered years Lay your hands upon me The beast convulses under the yoke While the spectre descends The beast convulses under the yoke Shuddering, giving way, coalesce, splintered If time weren't cruel to you, I guess you'd never know Kindness is knowing less about what's to come Comfort in the blackest waves Eyes rolling in abattoir gaze A constellation marked across my face and the promise of the silence underneath I've given it my all, everything They tell me you're no longer here, but I can feel it Throttling weight of ten tons of you, but I can feel it Cascading and crashing and infinitely raining down The inner hero broken By slings that shatter the wounded man In my pathetic psychosis of trust I gave you the tools you used to smash me So how could I protest When you fell in love with the hammer's grip And the sound as it carved through the air So how could I dare to utter anything but divine cries of joy As it pulverised me, as it paralysed me Knowing that the hammer was home Knowing that the bearer of the hammer is god Knowing that the hammer is home Knowing that the bearer of the hammer is god The inner hero broken By slings that shatter the wounded man Storm in wretched chorus Spirit, take my hand

And in the fractured light they shone as gold Caustic beacon shattered soul aglow The shadow behind them unrecognisable Scourge and hurt and splintered doors All slamming closed all at once: Paralysed by fear of misstep And the punishment that comes A tonne, of bricks, raining down On a body that drowns in tears Tears of molten gold Fission, rejection, failure burning brightly A wretched will to be loved Dragged out, ribboned and flayed Flanked by men who wait and watch the tumours grow What fear could bring forth such a walking eclipse What deformed the frames upon which our spirits hang What could stride through the labyrinth of dream And seed terror into fallowing earth For in the failing light the gold has lost its shine Corroded icon spirit non-divine The shadow behind them has taken horrid form A face I know I've seen before Bearing down all at once In the distance I thought I'd seen my true guiding light The bitter flame of despair into which you breathed life Pain is never far away I've found my terror in the tomb you built But I have found myself in the inverse of you Pain is never far away

The child is now a man A towering scar That drifts upon the earth Disfiguring the path For his way is long rusted shut Swing swiftly, healing hammer Saint butcher, drive the knife Give life only to that of him worthy of sacrifice Clutching his old gods by the spine The fractal wound unfurls and yawns And deep within, the coal-bright eyes suddenly ablaze Searchlights to pin you down Sun threatens collapse A harbinger, beckoning, with withered breath he says Your heart is ready to die Let thunder of its pulse cease And the gateways of beyond spill open To drown all hurt Like the briefest spark between oblivions slavering jaws A vainglorious charge against the starving dark we've all known before Splintered iron forged against splintered iron Forward, further, spirit killer Onward, til the glory of decay Your heart is ready to die Drown all hurt and virtue now Onward, til the glory of decay Faces skyward Embracing the terrible dawn

Senses refuse to collapse Burning like nuclear furnace A guiding Pripyat light Monarchs of disaster, swarm Around my gathering shadow Withering Death cannot hold me We writhe ensnared in the jaws of one another's vicious defeat Assailed by the nightmare that we will never part again A lifetime we've been together, dynastic metastasis Sorrow shall not return us To the emptiness that was once in sight Beyond wounding, beyond terror, Beyond death, beyond the end Senses refuse to collapse Monarchs in starvation swarm For their wellspring is bitter, and for it is my heart What was broken is fused And what was rotting springs forth anew Unfurling, starved, carcinised, with every moment, gaining ground Death cannot hold me I didn't realise then, but now I understand I have lived like a ghost but I will die as a man For I have found my fear beneath the shadow of your hand For I've found my sorrow between the whiplash of your words But I finally see the edge of where you end and I begin Now nothing will hold me I unfold atop the broken spiral I promise you that every sword drawn against me would shatter
