Where the black footprint is left, Raven stomps the white snow, Trees surround me like a ring. There's no hope the light will break on through The cold and snowy cover. Threads of light won't break through. I'm freezing! Help me out! There is only moss and spruces. I cannot escape the visions frightning me so much. Light and wind! Like a blindman I'm walking through the woods Seeking for the fire. The wind is wandering through the forest, Like a wolf is hunting for a beast, Seeks to find me. And the animals, hearing that sound Flying over the forest like a wind, Get in a hurry to burrow in their holes. It's Leshy calling for them from deeps of the woods. He's calling them servants of the Forest Lord to hurry up home, as the winter is close. He's hurrying up to come under the ground And wait until spring will return. А звери, заслышав тот крик, Как ветер летящий над лесом, Добраться спешат до норы. То кличет им из лесу Леший, И гонит по норам в преддверие зимы, Прислугу лесного владыки. Он хочет скорее под землю уйти, Уснуть до прихода весенней поры.

Roar and whistling rolls through the forests, It's Blizzard's laugh, roar and grin. She's looking for those who risked and went to the woods planning an evil deed. She's laughing about those who got lost in the wilderness, and died from cold and claws. Blizzard howls with no grief in her voice, Her whistling is spreading over the thicket. She's drowning out the cries about home, She's covering trails with her veil She's covering eyes with whiteness. Blizzard! Blizzard! She's biting your cheeks, breaking your fingers, Just for the sake of laughing. She roars as loud as she can, Foreshadowing snow storms to come. She's biting and groaning, And knocking down the snow hats From tops of birches and spruces, Right to the heads of the wrongdoers. Раскатывается по лесу рокот и посвист. То смеётся Метелица, то ревет и хохочет. О тех, кто рискнул Отправиться в лес, задумав недоброе дело. О тех, заплутавших в глуши, Погибших от хлада и зверя. То без горя воет метелица И тянется свист её над чащей лесною. Заглушает крики о доме, Застилает тропу пеленою. Закрывает глаза белизною. Метелица! Метелица! Кусает щеки, ломает пальцы И во всю продолжает смеяться. Ревет что есть мочи метелица. Вот ненастье. То свирепо кусает и стонет, Сбивает шапки из снега С верхушек берез и елей Да на голову лиходеям.
