A Dark Poem, Part I: The Shores of Melancholia
A lion could rip the flesh right off your bones A mother the same, she could do it with six simple words The length she’d go is non-negotiable A knife through the heart “I am so disappointed in you” I come with burden, I come with great concern, a constant worry A locust in the serpent’s eye Your watch has ended But I feel that you are still here with me I never got to say goodbye As silence took you I stumble over my feet and count the moons Another attempt, I know what I was missing There is no reason to deny the forgivable sinner The aquation adds up This is what you have brought to life I come with burden, I come with great concern, a constant worry A locust in the serpent’s eye Your watch has ended But I feel that you are still here with me I never got to say goodbye As silence took you I step forth from the shadows To taste the fruit that you had left behind My life! As I curse the hole I’m stuck in I know now what you wanted me to see My life! There was no limit to your compassion I was just too blind to see I come with burden, I come with great concern, a constant worry A locust in the serpent’s eye Your watch has ended, But I feel that you are still here with me I never got to say goodbye As silence took you

The final call, the tragedies, catastrophies are here It’s in your head The end is near, the casualties, adversities are here It’s in your head Alive when you are alive That’s your paradise Imposters’ words will expire In your paradise The accidents, fatalities, calamities are here It’s in your head The Babylon, apostasy, the judgment day is here It's in your head Alive when you are alive That’s your paradise Imposters’ words will expire In your paradise These are the lies you don’t want to blossom (further more) The are the lies you don’t want to stay alive The fear of the unknown The sound of the sacred The tale of the godly The look of the God inside I see it in your eyes The destiny, the misery, exigency is here It’s in your head Collapse is near, emergency, the cataclysm’s here It’s in your head Alive when you are alive That’s your paradise Imposters’ words will expire In your paradise

Listen Out here we’re vulnerable Life here could cut us off When we are on their grounds Don't you worry I’ll play their hide and seek I’ll make myself look weak If that is what it takes I know the stitches won't last Maybe I’m stuck in the past Somehow I drown myself Somehow I drowned myself I seek word from above I seek word from below It’s me, my enemy It’s me, my enemy Now I try to forget All the things I regret This is me, my enemy It’s me, my enemy I hear the music The laughter, the self-esteem sounds like a living dream, without the joyful noise Alive… Alive… Darkness got the best of me I’m not living, I’m just alive I’m not living, I’m just alive A picture frame, an empty cup A broken chair, a phone hung up No replies, the hidden lies It's me my enemy, It’s me, my enemy Upside down, razor blade Fake escape, the role I played How can it be, I’m still alive It’s me, my enemy It’s me, my enemy

Here you are, presenting the life you are living Are you proud of what you’ve become? When I was young, alive with a sense of belonging The road ahead was a limitless road The value of time, no more than a minor distraction Freedom outside, labor within Strings attached, and all of the puppets will follow Strings attached, you’re a part of the herd The slave that you are, you dream of the future The slave that you were, an honest mistake The slave you will be, a piece of the puzzle The slave that you are, there’s so much at stake A mind at ease, inner peace lies beyond the horizon As for my goal, it was never to yield There is strength in the eye of the public opinion So keep it down so you don’t wake the beast The slave that you are, you dream of the future The slave that you were, an honest mistake The slave you will be, a piece of the puzzle The slave that you are, there’s so much at stake Once I tried to step outside of the system Twice, I swore I’d never fold again Once, I thought that I could make a difference Twice, I learned my visions are detained What is this talk of independence? Do you not know we have a plan? There is a custom to these matters It’s not the time to take your stand But don’t you worry, we have you covered Suppressive fire, for those who are with us The work will free you, your work will welcome you as The slave that you are, you dream of the future The slave that you were, an honest mistake The slave you will be, a piece of the puzzle The slave that you are, there’s so much at stake

The hanged men dance So dark that I found myself grasping for light in this parallel world Well, I feel that I belong here The stolen heart The death of humanity hidden in ink on a page filled with love For your own damn misery It makes me wonder, how grateful do I feel When I blow out the candle Here on the shores of melancholia Winter is draining the life out of summer and hope torn asunder The tale of the dead soldiers’ bones makes a beautiful ending A perverse embrace, one final breath Under scarlet clouds Gather ‘round Come witness the death of a dream and the birth of the upper class As the vultures gather Ophelia Too human, too soft for this life, as your innocence fell from the sky In my own backyard And it makes me wonder, How grateful did you feel When you blew out the candle Here on the shores of melancholia Winter is draining the life out of summer and hope torn asunder The tale of the dead soldiers’ bones makes a beautiful ending A perverse embrace, one final breath Under scarlet clouds

These vague interpretations set our future Please leave your thoughts at the lost and found These words mean nothing to me, pitching purpose It takes more than tears to come around Is this the pathway given? Is this what got me driven? How can I change your mind? There ain’t no rope, there ain’t no high ground What you reap is what you sow But I always find myself too close to the flame The clock is ticking, the stakes are high I’m pushing forward, so I don’t ask why If you only knew the things I do to get over you The interaction is a puzzle waiting The pieces crumble one by one When conversations turn to interrogation You draw a line and you move on Is this the pathway given? Is this what got me driven? How can I change your mind? There ain’t no rope, there ain’t no high ground What you reap is what you sow But I always find myself too close to the flame The clock is ticking, the stakes are high I’m pushing forward, so I don’t ask why If you only knew the things I do to get over you As time goes by I trace my trail The stupid lies, the broken ties Nothing comes to life around me As lost on land as lost at sea Sleep, a different bed A form of revenge, it’s common sense Sign, from red to green A form of relief, misconceive You know the consequences call for sorrow You will not lose if you don’t bet Inside my heart there is a true believer Inside my head there is a threat Is this the pathway given? Is this what got me driven? How can I change your mind? There ain’t no rope, there ain’t no high ground What you reap is what you sow But I always find myself too close to the flame The clock is ticking, the stakes are high I’m pushing forward, so I don’t ask why If you only knew the things I do to get over you The purpose is constantly changing, a lesson learned as bridges burn Ignorance used as an alibi, pleading guilty just to satisfy The purpose is constantly changing, a lesson learned now bridges burn
