My back towards the south I stand amidst the dusk The memory of the southern sun in mind A cold broadsword in my frostbitten hands Slowly raising the blade to make my final stand Dozen pairs of hungry eyes Like blazing gems of bloodlust They stare at me Their howls fill the sky Locked in a stalemate as the sunlight fades away Before the trees devour the light I see the beastly claws Too tired to run, too frozen to flee No funeral pyres to send me on my way No shining sun, no silvery light from above As I prepare to meet my last true test Their growls and howling echo across the frozen woodlands It's not "me or them" It's how many beasts I can take with me Swinging the blade against a furious storm black claws A flurry of fur and snow rages all around me Their teeth dig deep but I can't feel the pain My body's gone numb while crossing this icy plain I feel its closing as more wolves join the hunt Our blood paints the scenery with every single bite I drop down on my knees in to the bloodred snow I drive my steel into the ice and unleash my defiant howl Too tired to run, too frozen to flee No funeral pyres to send me on my way No shining sun, no silvery light from above As I prepare to meet my last true test Their growls and howling echo across the frozen woodlands It's not "me or them" It's how many beasts I can take with me
