Mankind, the self-proclaimed and ostensible emperor Undisputed despot on this rock claimed as our own But as we stare Into the starry night Our futility bares us A giant shrinks out of sight Colossus on feet made of clay Our vanity and immeasurable ego have led us astray It turns out we're nothing We're nothing We're nothing at all Here fade our certainties Geocentrism collapses Into yet another grain of sand We lose ourselves within the void above Within this measureless magnitude that swallows us whole Just let go of your certainties Embrace the role you play Embrace your irrelevance Under a billion suns With this new perspective A simple grain of sand could rise And dream its path across the starry vault But the path is long ahead We lose ourselves within the void above Within this measureless magnitude that swallows us whole The void above, it swallows us all

Myriads of worlds for us to contemplate Yet still perfectly blank is our slate We keep looking for a sign across the starry vault But each of them is greeted with soon crumbling exalt Could we be mis-looking, or could we be all wrong? (Or could we be all wrong?) Should we rather be attuned to an entirely different song? (Entirely different song) Can't we see the signs or are they just not there? (Or are they just not there?) It seems the universe turns emptier the more that we stare In total defiance of probabilities Our every call remains unanswered Where are they all? Is our world unique, with a perfect star among the throng? Sheltered by the Moon, Kuiper, and Jupiter along With organic matter, lakes and oceans ice-capped Where prokaryotic cells could be protected yet not trapped Is there another filter somewhere along the road? (Somewhere along the road) Eukaryotic beings or some genetic code? (Some genetic code) Emergence of technology or language instead? (Or language instead) Or maybe the great filter of us all still lies ahead? In total defiance of probabilities Our every call remains unanswered Where are they all? Where are they all? The great filter

We decided to leave the world behind To fully shine within our minds In this haven nothing can affect us No dilemmas to discuss We thrive in our minds In this virtual reality So sublime, so splendid So true Finally we've set ourselves free from all need And desire, perpetual bliss We've solved the equation of abundance By entrusting our fates to machines Our fates bound to theirs The price of peace ever-long Our backs turned to the wide world outside In quest for wholeness of our minds Why would we ever leave? We (Might have been wrong) Thrive in our minds (Or so we thought) In this virtual (Computerized) Reality (Cerebral cell) So sublime (And yet so frail) So splendid (And yet it's fake) So true (A fantasy all binary) Finally we've set ourselves free (And yet we're trapped) From all need (And all affects) And desire (Passion withal) Perpetual bliss (All feels so bland) We've solved (But were dissolved) The equation of (Or so we thought) Abundance (High is the price) By entrusting our fates to machines (Dangerous the cost) Flaw detected, a systemic error, menacing A sword of Damocles always overhead Why would we ever leave our haven? We thrive in our minds In this virtual world so true (So true) (In this virtual world so true) We are free from all need We've solved the equation of life But our fate is in their hands

Primordial impulses of the brain Enforce and bind All beings to sustain themselves At the expense of others One rule to bind us all, self-preservation Regardless of our intricacy we're all trapped From single strands of DNA in a capsid To the most complex organisms We thought we were above of all these trivias That striving in a society would free us We couldn’t have been further astray from the truth The ice under our feet now starts to crack We find ourselves in a corner One in which we painted ourselves The anomy of our society Hiding in plain sight for so long Specific obsolescence We have depleted all resources Our world had to offer Squeezed out every single drop It's much too late to hold the horses Despite how hard we spur Blustering, unto the crag we race Hard will be the fall Our species obsolete Our vanity worn as a blindfold The hard truth, the intrinsic nature of life ignored Like gravity, this tragedy Beyond the event horizon draws us all We find ourselves in a corner One in which we painted ourselves The anomy of our society Obsolescence of our species

Fueled by an insatiable curiosity That's intrinsic to life itself, we can't resist it Stronger than our deepest animosity It keeps driving us together to surpass our boundaries And pierce the mysteries Solve the puzzle in unity Where particles collide Tremendous energies may Rip from the void archaic remnants for us to behold Conveying clues of primordial history The apex of technology An absolute marvel of precision poised to bring awarenеss The symbol of a disinterestеd unity Meant to show the best of us and raise our species Chase the mysteries And quench our urgent curiosity Dissection of the real Where particles collide Tremendous energies may Rip from the void archaic remnants for us to behold Conveying clues of primordial history Hadrons slammed together Critical mass exceeded Gravitational forces take over Radiation defeated Gargantua is born Nothing left to stop its Growth Subatomic threat unnoticed Gains momentum immeasurable Insatiable devourer Swallowing all matter and shattering space-time Leaving nothing behind Not a single atom, information, only void A civilization allegedly so strong Thoroughly erased

We scan, we observe Our plan is to preserve The one rule is to stay concealed Don't fuel it, keep the shield Our expansion we must withhold And our instincts must be controlled With meticulous caution we must proceed if we're to endure We have witnessed so much destruction Across the celestial vault All beings from their inception Wired with a fatal fault As covert observers from afar we live on Concеaled under cover of our star rеmote The one rule (The one rule) Of self-preservation Is to remain out of the pool (Out of the pool) Behold with absolute discretion It was proven repeatedly Across all of history That all over the stars The one true god is Mars We have witnessed eradications Across the known universe Those in power make no exceptions The weak they encounter they coerce We're lonely pacifists out at sea, so quiet In time though a tide will come One we cannot escape As covert observers from afar we live on Concealed under cover of our star remote Can we keep on turning a blind eye? Can we bear it? Can we help it? Compelled we are Or we will be next

Timeless travelers across the interstellar emptiness Deep within they carry the substance for the cycle to start all anew We sent extremophiles perfectly suited to resist the Radical conditions of space Thus they have become the carriers of our hopes The fall of a shooting star Containing essence of life So the cycle starts anew Massively sent to every viable target out in space In the blind hope that somewhere The treasures of our world might endure Waking from timeless lethargy They breathe in, breathe out, and divide On this new world all blank and bare There falls a shooting star Containing essence of life So the cycle starts anew Drain this new world of its resources Once more the loop is closed Such is the never changing course The fall of a shooting star Containing essence of life On this new world the cycle starts anew One more chance for life to thrive Given a few billion years, man might arise Only to fall again
