Come the Tide

Feet, you've brought me here, to this wide lifeless shore Was it me who led the way, or was I led? Eyes, you've seen the path, or were you blind all this time? Disoriented by a myriad crossroads giving in to your inward fright Was your will your own along the way? What took you to the strand? Reason slept and so your mind went absent But if I'm ever mine... Will I ever see through the wall of light? Stranded before the stretching sea Gentle, the waves are calling me Silent, a barren land in sight Wisdom, so close and yet so distant Hands, stop shaking now, and regain your once firm grasp yet though the sand might slip through you sometimes you have to filter out what hurts Heart, keep pounding hard with the confidence the waves come forth for the tide won't let us go now, feel the calling of the old man of the sea Stranded before the stretching sea Gentle, the waves are calling me Silent, a barren land in sight Wisdom, so close and yet so distant A towering body of surging water rises ahead I'm on the edge of the deep blue abyss; I merge with it

In this sea, left at the mercy of the waves, know your inner voice will never be heard The tide is rough, time to dive down into your mind seek the hidden self, it's never too deep Know the path you are to follow is the road less travelled Feel the relentless grip of the undertow Heed the ocean's call within your marrow Surface and let your lungs be filled with fresh air Though the cravings of time will always walk by your side

I, despised by my own kind, Sent into exile, doomed to walk the ice Senseless charges are held against me A shade of misery and shame A traitor! That’s what they cry I hear their poisoned voices, do they laugh? Those so-called patriots with their hollow devotion Won’t hesitate to rape their own land “Fear is the key to rule mankind, Once all glimpse of hope is vanished you’ll find out” Worn-out by a world of illusions I led my withered persona into the everlasting vow It’s hard to find that one is said to be a traitor Hard to not get mad at the very thought of it Hard to keep one’s cool when you see as foes those you cared for Sadly it is the price I have to pay for my convictions Pride and love for the fatherland Words in disguise for indulgence and hate What about personal pride? Primitive feelings are far easier to command What do they mean when they boast of loving their country? What do they want to get from us all? A brain-dead following mass for their private pretensions? Well, if I refuse that, then yes, a traitor I am Liar!!! Betrayer!!! Die!!! How can a loyalty so pure and true be twisted into bigotry? Where was the mistake? When did we become the end point of zero? Based on the novel “The Left Hand of Darkness”, by Ursula K. Le Guin.

Come the waves, the layers of a life scattered fragments of an untold future resting deep beneath the blue Inflection, transition a watershed set the sails to the land uncharted let the unknown become your guide Each time I was washed ashore I questioned my beliefs to the point I became a stranger unaware of my own self Till I came to realize I'd make the sea my home in the hope (that) this erratic voyage would dispel this thickening mist with some light Come the tide, And will you come along? On this everlasting journey towards the embrace of the waves I will seek to tame both my light and shadows come to terms with my defeats raise the anchor, we're out to the sea "I'm searching, but not seeing I'm listening, but not hearing" Like water I flow now As an endless stream I run and weather the eternal storm Silver sea within, see this emerald daybreak that steadily weaves "We are the waves, we are the tide to come"
