The plague widely raged while reaping victims Entire countries were left without life At the same time the foolish king was hiding into his castle With all his riches and all he needed Surrounded by servants and his courtiers And certain to be safe they lived a daily feast to feel themselves alive Blasphemous, ingenious, insane poor king Until one evening there at the castle The king was hosting the biggest masquerade ball While cheerful symphonies and total glitz were filling the seven strange rooms Each of a different colour but the last one Was black and dark with blood-stained windows Made with black ebony the pendulum was resting alone in his room The flames of the tripods in an icy blow went out The ruin of the Red Death now reigns on the dead mankind The dark figure came out from that room And with a mask of death to hide his bloody face Among the frightened crowd the king faced that stranger and send her away Defiantly the red death took off her mask Revealing to the king her true identity Showing her power and imposing her anathema over humanity Blasphemous, ingenious, insane poor king The flames of the tripods in an icy blow went out The ruin of the Red Death now reigns on the dead mankind The flames of the tripods in an icy blow went out The ruin of the Red Death now reigns on the dead mankind The life of the ebony clock ended with the last of those people
