The Twilight Ship

When the dust has settled and the sound of war has silenced The warm blood meets cold soil and turns to mist that slowly rises on the field Beneath the mist of blood we begin the search for a glimpse of life in blank eyes. Despising the dead smiles of our enemies Father, hear me calling Silence, foreboding sign A circle of screaming ravens ”The death of king of kings” Dark skies and weeping rain Heavy shoulders carrying our king Father, you’re going home now Mother, prepare the ship For his final journey The skyline is burning red On board the twilight ship With sails as wide as Odins hall The ship is sailing pround into the night Farewell my beloved king Your song will sound up high A shield with your mark in gold rest upon your chest With sharpened edge you mighty sword is shining by your side The light will guide you through the night on your way to hall up high The tide takes you away Archers, raise your bows Arrows of fire Light up sky as stars in the night
