A Forgotten Land
A shattered hope amongst the fallen leaves Fraught with emptiness Buried beneath a century of moss Feel the wind speak my name Watch, as hands carve and forge Hewn of ancient blood and breath Forced to be, and left to rot for a new day Endless companion of sorrow and guilt For now, I have only you A guided hand Toward a broken spirit A forgotten land For which I crave and cannot hold A whisper of a primal force I am coming home to a new day

Let this unfold! Through sheer will, this day will come A hollow form, longing to be whole Through the trees I can hear her calling Calling my name, calling me home Let this unfold to become truth! A spirit, older and wiser than our empty plains A mother to the wind and to the rain At her foot I sit, and in her arms, cradled, lies hope... Let this unfold! This journey began amidst an unending cold Within a newfound life, a warmth now beckons Calling my name, calling me home "Come forth into my arms" she whispers Let the song of this land hearken my spirit Let this ancient place into my heart, into my blood Calling my name, calling me home Let this unfold to become truth!

Your roots wrap around my feet And your branches embrace me In the light of an autumn moon I am coming home Your soil seeps through my skin The cleansing is calling A new day will be upon us soon I am coming home As these gray walls of another life Crack and wither to sand My heart calls out for the stream For the mountain For this, my land The wind calls through the forest And the songs of the leaves "What if the point from the beginning Has been simply to be?" I am coming home

The wind that sways through the Eucalypt And the sound of spring that fills the air Alive is the valley, with wondrous color and abundance This timeless land stole my heart To the Mother and her possum skin coat Through the stream that gives to all, her life To the ancient creaking of the woods This endless land stole my heart On the breeze floats the seed of a thousand moons And the spirit of a whispering forest Look forth unto the stars This beautiful land stole my heart Forever.. is this soil attuned to my soul The rolling hills, the soaring trees Our roots shall flourish here This forgotten land stole my heart And the birds are singing for me to come home And the trees that are calling to me, "come home, come home" The stream flows like blood in my veins, I am coming home This place that is calling my name.. I am home
