My Bones Shall Rest Upon the Mountain
I watch the snow fall, from the side of a mountain And watch the stars as they appear These tired legs of mine, somehow they know where to go Towards the light they stride, and so I climb Many years I’ve wandered all alone upon these hills In search of something close to peace My body aches, my spirits tired, my sword is broken Here I fall and enter sleep eternally From somewhere deep inside I hear a voice calling me These words carved inside my mind forever Conquer thy mountain Thy wings shall give us flight My heart a thundercloud that beats in the hardest times Conquer thy mountain Enter the final trial Victory is served to the ones who climb

This sword I carry, forged years ago Given to me by my father, no gift but a curse Cursed to wander these lands far from my home Cursed to be afraid and journey on my own This shield I carry, carved from the wood Of a tree in my town, countless years ago Built to protect me from everything I fear Illusions from my mind and things I cannot see My armour shines in the setting sun Shadows grow and the air is cold Whispering voice in a tongue unknown to me In this forest will I die?

Serenade the dawn, the light flows on Alone I stare in awe A warm place with no memory Will forever be home I will find you on my road I will meet you by the shore In these shadows I’m alone I will take you to my home

I’ve seen white light Clouds from the grey Hold a safe place Within my heart

Dashed upon the rocks of grief Cast adrift upon the wretched sea Thoughts of home frequently Immobilised by fright Deeper down beyond all sound Surely here is where all life should drown Forgot the warmth of the sun It drifts away from sight Slave away and wait to die Waste away for your whole life But a slave to misery Curse the day and morning light Another day I walk with thee Within these halls that ye may never leave Haunted by the ghosts of fear They disappеar in time From the gates I see thе end Wave goodbye as if you were my friend Why on me do you depend? And never leave my side?

When I arrived, my journey took me through the trees I came upon a land of snow Mountains of ice and souls being warmed by fireside It was here I made a home As days warm, from their homes I heard the songs We shared laughs and hopes and beer Long blurry nights, laughing til the morning rise In those days, the world was fair How I wish that I could sleep and dream forever In this realm, eternally my home But my heart belongs somewhere far across the sea When I die I shall rеturn When summer came, thе hills became a brilliant green And the sun above did shine I felt the warmth, something never seen before Locked away for all time Oh, how I wish that I could sleep and dream forever In this realm, eternally my home But my heart belongs somewhere far across the sea When I die I shall return The years go on and we grow old Yet my strength remains Another day, another path I start to notice my friend grows grey He's walking slowly, a few steps behind He's been this way for days He cannot eat, he only sleeps This is where his legs gave way I held his head heavy in my hands From his mouth escaped a sigh Many years and journeys more and now he says goodbye I plead with him: "Please don't go." I see his spirit rise Into the fog he wandered forth and disappeared before my eyes Here where no one wanders Where no lights can be seen A winter realm of ice and snow Forever here I’ll dream And when the time does come My broken body dies My bones shall rest, forevermore Upon the mountainside
