Bereft of memory, I am mercifully lost and grasping, grasping An aimless threnody Palms displayed to the sky Death yet everlasting Lost, So lost and nearly blind Lost, We reach out into the black So Lost, Not knowing what to ask Lost, Or who it is that answers Mired in earth Shackled in body Projecting Falling outward Gazing into the black Descending Lost, The merest suggestion of light Lost, Somewhere too far off to tell So lost, We stumble and continue to crawl Lost, Because in the end where else is there to go The sacrament is the gateway Verba non verbo Verba non sunta linguae
