I crawl to drink… Along twisting veins ‘neath ruptured skin, I can make out the bedraggled silhouettes of my kin - from them a mirthless whisper crawls Hear the weeping: the shrill wheezing echoing my squalor The worm is my kin, my kin is the worm A Worm Charmer sprung from the cursed tongue The tongue, is licking mine The tongue, is licking mine … Crystalline time and light long lost; the fragmentation of my essence was their cost as I, marked with a tarnished crest, desperately called for my kin draggling on my bare chest … At their own behest I crawled to drink! I crawled to never think I crawled to forever sink in the hysteria beyond sanity’s brink … and through the crystalline time and light that I sought, blind with desires unfathomable, flowed a brew from which a swig I drew to feel a solace I never knew … and so I drank and drank and watched as the sun sank writhing into my goblet, where it mingled with the dust of ancient urns and soon began to squirm… and so I drank the worm… I crawled to drink I, I crawled to never think I crawled to for ever sink in the hysteria beyond sanity’s brink and through the crystalline time and light I sought blind With the tongue licking mine and my kin swirling ‘neath my ruptured skin, I am bedraggled by my vessel’s brew A flow from which too a squirming swig I drew to fade all light that glew, for a solace I never knew … and so I drank and drank, and drank and drank from the dust covered urn and so I drank the worm…
