Kingdom in Fire
They didn't care for the warning They rode on to meet their foes Over the bridge to Tumhalad's field In death and ruin their fate was sealed Dragon-helm with king at his side Arms of Noldor in war once again for many fell as daylight died and among his kin the king was slain Oh, the western world will mourn, shed tears for evermore Crying for the fall of Nargothrond ***(Gwindor, - Silmarillion) "Let bearing pay for bearing! But ill-fated was mine, and vain is yours; for my body is marred beyond healing, and I must leave Middle-earth. And though I love you, son of Húrin, yet I rue the day that I took you from the Orcs. But your prowess and your pride, still I should have love and life, and Nargothrond should yet stand a while. Haste to save Finduilas, for she alone stands between you and your doom. If you fail her, it shall not fail to find you. Farewell my friend, farewell."*** The mighty dragon came over the bridge In flames of Angband he covered the ridge For many elves fell for death and pain Slain by the sword or fire and flame Oh, and Túrin witnessed all the cries for evermore The end for it all for Nargothrond ***(Glaurung, - Silmarillion) "Evil have been all thy ways, son of Húrin. Thankless fosterling, outlaw, slayer of thy friend, thief of love, usurper of Nargothrond, captain foolhardy, and deserter of thy kin."*** "Orcs of Bauglir! Rob and rape! Make sure no one escapes Spill the blood, stain their halls! Tear down the mighty Felagund's doors! Do thy deeds, thy desires I'll cast this kingdom into fire The Black sword awaits at the gate the downfall of his doomed fate" Nai hiruvalyë Valimar Spellbound, Túrin stood still gone were his urges and intent to kill The mighty serpent was laughing at him who's life was all dark and grim The elven maiden was dragged away on this blood soaked doomsday Upon a bridge stood the dragon-helm before his dear lost elven realm Nai hiruvalyë Valimar ***And so the gates of Felagund were destroyed and the once mighty kingdom of Nargothrond fell under the shadow of Morgoth. The father of dragons, Glaurung, set his lair there in the halls of Finrod and after five years he left to face the Black sword once more.***

Far beyond the ruins of Nargothrond Old friend arrived to the halls of Thingol He brought great curse, a share of Morgoth's wrath And thus began the downfall of Doriath He summoned the dwarves of Belegost To reforge the mighty Nauglamir To unite the treasures once lost The nacklace and the Silmaril But Nogrod's folk became his foes They claimed the treasure to their own Enthralled and amazed by the glow Of the great gemstone With lies they brought the dwarven host To sack the mighty Thousand Caves Slaying guards onto their post Betraying elves in mischievous ways Defying Thingol's rule A carnage the dwarves would bring To walk away with the jewel They killed the Sindar high king With Silmaril, dwarves tried to escape On their way at Sarn Athrad They met their gruesome fate Death by the hand of elvish wrath Beren took the precious stone The one he held again Stolen from the king on iron throne He took the gem to Tol Galen O Thingol, the king of silver gold Father of the frail nightingale Tinuviel Luthien Now laments on thy death After Beleriand had mourned the loss of king Thingol, his heir Dior, son of Beren and Luthien took the crown of kingdom of Doriath. After his parents deaths, he became the bearer of the Silmaril and together with his queen, Nimloth, they ruled in peace. Three years he served as a king upon his throne But word spread far and wide and doom was coming to his home O the bearers of the oath were wandering on the roads Through out the sacred land of Beleriand The hand that wields the sword, the head of Noldor horde Led by the oath they swore with Fëanor The word spread far and wide and thus the sons of Fëanor arrived to Doriath to claim their own, forced by their oath Elves killing elves, the kinslaying all over again Blood and flesh and guts, the Sindar hosts are slain King and queen and three brothers all gone The thousand caves flooded with blood in the dawn But young princess Elwing got away She survived and lived to tell the tale At the mouths of Sirion they met those who had survived And together the elves sang to those who had died O Melian, loved by everyone Went back to Lórien whence she came Musing over birth of death in Middle-Earth No joy will follow her sorrow Darkness wins again but it is not the end Eärendil sails to blessed land in west

Tears unnumbered ye shall shed... Curse of Mandos, brought by mortal man When Tuor arrived to king Turgon's land With words of Ulmo he begged them to flee go down to Sirion to the sea But proud king refused to leave and thus he sealed the city's fate in eternal grief For seven years the city stood still Until the Shadow caught Maeglin under its will Driven by hatred, the betrayal unfold and the secret entrance to the city was told A host of Morgoth encirling city's walls Plunging flames into its sacred halls The Noldor army raised against its foes with swords and shields they delivered killing blows These tales of glory were told wide and far Forever echoing the mighty warcry of the Eldar As the shadows loomed over the mountains and hosts of Morgoth reached the king's fountain It seemed that all hope had gone until the lord of Balrogs faced Ecthelion And lo! Ecthelion, Lord of the fountain, stood against his foe. Clad in silver, his face pallor of grey steel, duelling against Gothmog. Wounded, he lost the grip of his sword and as the demon raised his whip, Ecthelion leapt full at Gothmog, impaling his chest with the spike of his helm and driving them both into basin of the king's fountain. Amid the burning citadel, they drowned in the cool water. Thus the legacy of Ecthelion would remain as the most valiant in all the songs or in any tale. And as the towers crumbled, Turgon, the High king of Noldor fell with his city. Its white walls smouldering black by the flames of Angband's wrath. Amid the fires of hate, Tumladen burned in the night In chance of this cruel fate, who could find the saving light? To the secret passage we must go For we shall see the dawn of morrow Alas! Gondolin is no more so we must haste to the shore But in the mountain pass of Cirith Thoronath A Balrog brought upon the flames of Morgoth's wrath Gilded hero stepped up forth against the demon from the north To save the exiles from this greater threat Trading blows on the ledge The demon fell over the edge and pulled the hero to their joint deaths Hail the glory of Glorfindel whose mighty legacy shall never quell whose sacrifice bore the pain of farewell Still weary, he longed for the sea in hopes to find Valinor In this voyage he did succeed Eärendil reached the western shore To prove his worth he pleaded before the Valar to give aid to save Middle-Earth and he convinced the lord of Aman Thus the host of Valinor came marching on on a long warpath And as the skies were set aflame it started the War of Wrath
