Monstrous
Every second of every day, we dwell beneath the shadow of the blade Waiting for the axe to fall But some of us exist, in ignorance and bliss Unaware of what approaches, and unable to resist The hunter, the horror, the never-ending hunger Time waits for no man, and no man is its master You cannot stop what you cannot see You cannot kill what does not bleed Behold the chronophage, the devourer of dimensions Witness the beast, longing to feast, in its many-angled prison Every single breath you take, drags you one step closer to the grave Into the gaping maw It preys upon your weakness, it feeds on your despair A monster without mercy, a predator without compare It hunts you, it haunts you, you bear its mark upon you And there is no escape, nowhere that it cannot find you You cannot run and you cannot hide You cannot rest til the day you die Behold the chronophage, the devourer of dimensions Witness the beast, longing to feast, in its many-angled prison Breath by breath, and day by day, we struggle against our own decay There is no salvation, no freedom, no hope of release No mercy in the maw of the monster No escape from the belly of the beast Behold the chronophage, the devourer of dimensions Witness the beast, longing to feast, in its many-angled prison Behold the enemy, the ancient beast of entropy

Cry havoc and slip the dogs of war Driven by the bloodlust, of the self-proclaimed superior To the victor go the spoils, to the strongest the right to survive Such is the natural order (of life), to propagate and multiply Desperate times need desperate measures Turning us against each other We always fear what we don't understand Desperate to control what we cannot comprehend It's only human nature To try and fight the future And hold on to the power that we've claimed Divide and conquer, cast your bread upon the water Pass your judgement, cast your stones You will reap the harvest you have sown This is a war of attrition, where nothing is forbidden And kill or be killed (do what thou will) is the whole of the law Action will provoke reaction Mutually assured destruction We learn to kill what cannot be cured Imposing our will, on the imperfect, on the impure It's only human nature To try and fight the future And hold on to the power that we've claimed And yet when all is said and done When all of our battles have been won Look at how far we have fallen, look at what monsters we've become Survival of the fittest Invasion of the exotic It's only human nature To try and fight the future And hold on to the power that we've claimed And yet when all is said and done When all of our battles have been won Look at how far we have fallen, look at what monsters we've become Look at what monsters we've become
