The Insurrectionists and the Caretakers
Between the endless barrage of voices Some resounding with empty thunder Others whispering in realistic resignation A figure stands silent, in evident scorn When their words are finally heard Like a poisonous arrow they strike everyone to utter shock A declaration of war, waged by one who shall Not wait anymore for the approval of others "No more shall I run like the servant of the state Correcting false accidents, intentional shortcomings But I will strike to destroy it, once and for all" Αfter that she vanished into the darkness, relieving comrades From the burden of having to give What they were willing to give For the emancipation of of them all But some did follow them, and a company of conspirators Was born under the black moon One that would fight the ruling order Until their final breath In the wilderness they roamed, sharpening their skills Each transforming mentally into an embodiment of revolution Soon to the cities they returned, observing in guise, Devising plans to bring chaos into order And wield vengeance, for the lost souls of the innocent Comrades old they shunned, averting their gaze In disgust to those who bargained with murderers In distrust to those who wore shiny ornaments out of false hope A red in the eyes, consumed by a ravaging concentration All other human desire, comfort or relief to be discarded To be nothing but an instrument of the cause Α great plan to cull the leadership of the enemy was devised To be preceded by precise strikes to wreak havoc and uncertainty For the people to see that the iron order is not infallible And so one day the spark of an idea turned into action They witnessed their resolve in the moment Was as strong as they had hoped As they walked on the path of no return Through whispers in dark alleys and painted messages in walls They discovered they were feeding the flames of an uprising And the ability to change the world Was lying in truth upon their hands Yet, the wretched fate brought a single mistake A lapse of a moment which would bring them all down Then she realized a terrible decision was at stake To balance loyalty to comrades over justice to many And so she knew she had to fight alone again To go onto the very end, knowing they would more likely Not ever see the fruits of the world she lived to bring With bloodied ink they left a final message to their comrades I know in my path I crossed as many victories as misdeeds You were all free to judge me, before and now that my time has come To my grave I want one truth to be written "At least I have revolted"

Why do we falter to take action in a world of abundance of knowledge, where history has provided us with all the necessary tools, the theories, the events, the failures, the successes? When it is not simply an image of an utopian future that is at stake, an illustrious ghost to entertain ourselves in a pleasurable afternoon, but our own survival, the collective legacy of our species and life of every being on this planet born and to be born... How do we proclaim the inevitability of the future while indulging in fantasies of power and heroism to help us sleep at night? What does it mean to take action? Does our salvation demand we throw ourselves into the mouth of vultures? Or would we prefer to see the ravaged hero as the only true revolutionary, to relieve ourselves of the burden of acting today on a single thing that we are able to change... Oh, how I longed to see the field of battle When I was young, I grew with tales of mighty warlords Heroes that fought with the strength of thousand men And saved us from hell with the gracious spirit of sacrifice An ancient false memory Now that my hair is greying, my heart sinks and my feet tremble At the reality of speaking my truth loud Against the face of an authority that can wipe you out The moment it decides so... Will the bards sing you praise when you raise your wooden sword And stricken down and put to prison in the next hour If that's all you ever cared for, I assure you, they will not. We say that this is not a life for everyone In truth, we know our weaknesses well We may not be ready to sacrifice everything yet But we shall still put up a fucking fight We will take care of each other and those in need We will build roads of understanding and empowerment Between all trampled by the black boot Of fascism and oppression We will toil for the fruits of cooperation and mutuality And not be consumed by the system of compliance But we will grow in numbers and one day We won't be scared of the flutter in our hearts deep and mighty Oh, how did you not foresee the sprout of resistance Growing from the most unexpected of places...

What is the pledge you gave to yourself during the darkest, turbulent nights? What comes out is yours to say when you face the greatest storm The cold and violent winds of your soul What did you remember when the vortex swept over you And the violence of the void whispered the end Release it! Like a spell for the mountains to quake Those that will hear from a distance will caution you to be less loud Remind you that what you ask is in this world impossible And they are true, because the world that will be Is never the world that was before But hear me! The voice of the storm Unbridled and true Has the power to move continents To blot out the sun, and separate land from sea And you will learn to shape it right, with experience and knowledge And to speak it with might, when your lungs are filled with Æther As long as you never forget its power
