Absolution
I can feel a gentle breeze In the presence of ten thousand trees Where life is ever flowing In all of it's grandeur Something within me awakens As I stand in contemplation There’s a spirit in the light That engulfs the landscape Call her name And the earth will tremble This landscape before me is endless and vast I watch in awe of it's majesty Fixated on the tallest tree As it begins to contort It was sudden I stood still I thought I was alone But then I felt it It was in the air A breath of life Fire that engulfed the forest Besieges the life within it I stand before you now Trembling in fear yet invigorated Where once I lost my way I have found a new beginning Where life is ever flowing In all of it's grandeur Follow me into the light I am lost in you I am lost in you You’re my escape from a world so violent A world bent on self destruction May you stand tall And transcend eternity with me

Envision A reconstructed world Without borders Without nations Leading a life bound only by imagination And free will Liberated from all oppressors Unburdened by injustice No longer bound to mediocrity Standing together in solidarity... There's a spirit in the dark And it will always haunt me It lurks in the shadows Manifesting as my reflection It consumes the light inside me It reveals the strife within It tears down all securities And begets visions of death “Welcome to the shrine Where happiness comes to die Welcome to the shrine... Join me for eternity…” I am not strong enough I've been here too many times before Sullen minds, forsaken hearts Surround me at my grave This life, it only ends one way And it will end by self infliction

We played with death as a concept The ice gave way and drowned us both Here we are, in the place we will always return to Staring death in the face with a mocking expression Did we ever feel alive? Did we find what we sought? Did we know what we were looking for? We exist in stasis You are my reflection You’re everything I hate about myself And you are always with me We never felt alive We found nothing But an endless abyss of discontentment I followed you onto a frozen lake Where the ice is thinnest And we fell through I long for separation For freedom from myself I want to be healed But these wounds are sentimental

Dreaming of a life unladen with such strife Of a life without anxiety, fear, burden No suffering, for me or my fellow man Is it so naive to expect better? Separated from my body I can see the world from a new perspective I carried the weight of the world On my shoulders Did it make me stronger? Did it make me believe in myself? Now, the gate is open I no longer feel bound To expectations It was always meant to be this way It’s been an eternity I still feel it’s presence It’s been an eternity And I am still here I am the architect Of my own spirit
