Daughter of the Oak
A conscious refusal to be Denies the existence of agony Hide! Shielding ourselves from epiphany Hide! From seeking the truth that shall set us free Moribund! Amongst poison rivers I wade into nigh A reflex of distress of painful morns that mantles its anguish in me I savor its aroma! Royal mound, now cloaking, its loathing in me Daughter of the Oak! Hide me! Bide me! Guide me! We shall never understand We’ll never have what we once had Withdrawing into a sufferers’ past And through turmoil of ruin To exorcize senses of life’s worst pretenses I wade through in my own projections To conjure expressions in meager reflections I drown in perpetual deafness Never accepting, we’ll never have what we once had Moribund! Amongst poison rivers I wade into nigh A reflex of distress of painful morns that mantles its anguish in me I savor its aroma! Royal mound, now cloaking, its loathing in me Daughter of the Oak!
