A day of fire when the invaders came The world we knew lies ruined and defamed Half of us gone in the very first wave Our efforts focus on the few that we can save We look into the sky and wonder Will we ever find our way? Eyes staring back in disbelief Into darkness we will fade Out of the shelters and into the night Race for the skies we’re gone before the light Nothing is left and there’s no time to grieve Endangered species makes ready to leave What lies beyond the end of everything? Can we go on in spite of all the pain? For now we run until we find a way Mankind it will survive to fight another day In a flash of light We fly to meet the stars Earth not among them Now behind so very far A blackened silence replaces every day Funeral shroud for the mother we betray Will our earth be a distant memory? And to our children just a fantasy

Straight on till morning But the daylight never comes Outside an endless void Radiation and cosmic dust Through the gulf of space Towards some distant star Far beyond our earth’s sky Human kind will live or die Dark side of heaven Or the spiral arm of hell Madness dwells in the deep Screams in silence heard by none Infinity it calls As remorseless stars watch The last life on earth Make one last try for rebirth A distant point of ancient light Past dead and drifting suns Godspeed on seas of fate Longing for the end Shrouded in eternal night Ahead lies our destiny A promised land we all await In the dark before the dawn A masterpiece of science Built to ferry our souls Faster than the speed of light Is it beyond our reach? These uncharted worlds Our race on a desperate flight

Entombed within these cold walls of steel We're floating into the abyss No hope is found in this alloy and glass Our sanity it starts to fray The cruel irony of space To so many with none The dark nature of fate To have lost and think you’ve won Embrace the horror Of a vastness of nothing Quantum mechanics for the blind Embrace the horror In a mass loss of reason A deafening silence in your mind A nightmare within And a cold death without Will our journey ever end? We see the earth so transformed Remade by another race They lay claim to our world We'll stay hidden no more Man was made from this world’s clay Given dominion over all We were the first and we’ll be the last In the end this empire will fall Unleashing the rage of mankind Bringing all weapons to bear To strike at the heart of the beast From all land sea and air Surprise attacks they weaken their will But our own loss is high The occupation suffers our wrath But not enough of them die To topple the cities of gold We'll sacrifice our lives We'll rise from our place in the dust And send them back to the skies Resistance fighters they risk their lives To bring down the machines Warfare tactics with no rules Maximum carnage by any means Obsolete weapons are no match for this Our children doomed to bear the scars Nothing left but a final escape To find the others in the stars To topple the cities of gold We'll sacrifice our lives We'll rise from our place in the dust And send them back to the skies We fight on through the night Humanity on the edge We're left in isolation Will resistance fail in the end?

Our navigation lights give off a dim glow Computers scanning the spaceways below Pressed to the viewports our eyes scan the dark And in an instant our faces fill with hope We see the planet but will it sustain life? All of our hopes and dreams depending on this moment Our engines blaze the sky, we break into the dawn A chance for survival, is this our new home? Lost souls on the edge of time Mankind on its final journey Will we find survival on the other world? Out of the speed of light, a world lies before us Is this the planet to carry on our race? We make our final descent, a growing fear among us Is this our journey’s end or are we doomed to space? Are we lost on the edge of time? Is mankind on its final journey? Will we survive and find our salvation? On the other world? We emerge out of the ship and face our destiny So unlike the earth we know but there’s air to breathe Lost souls on the edge of time Mankind on its final journey Are we brought here just to die? Blackened lands laid waste before us Alien sky absorbs the light Another world is drawn into conflict Opposing forces that are destined to fight Celestial angel of death before us Silently waits for the fatal embrace Thirsty for blood of monsters and men Openly spilled in this desolate place War follows war It shadows us from world to world Always the same Just different ground to fight upon Is this the future of man before us? In the gloom figures move before us Shadows twisting as they come alive First contact at our journey’s end In an instant it comes to this As we fight in eternal nightfall Overwhelmed we stand our ground To the death they defend their world Alien race we will always be Will we find our survival Or desolation in the stars? Into the black The end of our line We're defeated again But for the last time No more will we run We fight if even to extinction A destination set for earth Is it our final flight? No place for man among the stars No solace in the cold of space One ship descends Alone against so many We launch our attack From out of the sun Intense human fury Destroys their defenses We target in their cities And launch our last offense No place for them on our world No mercy from humanity We return to where it ends And no longer roam Our blood or theirs will spill On the fields of home To the ends of the earth On our native land To take back what is ours The Empire of Man So many sacrificed To win back our land They died for our existence And the Empire of Man They're caught unaware A sleeping giant falls Too self-assured to know To be prepared We use their own weapons against them An ancient race it burns We inherit the ash For the Empire of Man
