Réminiscence
As I stare at crumbling ruins And time keeps marching on I remember legends Of an era long gone The cold dagger of reminiscence Pierces my numbing heart I draw in a deep breath For I will soon depart The soft call of a dove Rises from a willow It’s a promise of dawn And of a new tomorrow Reminiscence leaves me With a new way to cope And the call of a dove And a longing for hope

You can always run Anywhere you hide We will always find you Keep on going deeper into the forest, unknowingly You are being (Behold, Forevermore) Led to a trap Our ancestral forest Destroyed by your carelessness Vandalized, burned, soiled By dirty human hands Look behind you We are here You are doomed We see you Your blood feeds the roots You trespass on our land Your heart ripped out The price will be paid Look behind you We are here You are doomed We see you Look behind you We are here You are doomed We see you No escape The end is near We are the forest walkers Archers… Loose

Through the shrubs and moss Of this macabre forest Grey snow is falling Among the shadows Where the scavengers lurk Death spies on you through the branches Lost in the trees maze You think you can run away But the roots chain you Blood of the fallen As an ice sheet on the boughs Brings a sickly smell Suffocate in the shadows Among the dying trees In the absence of light Your body slowly festers And the ravens shall erase Any trace of your presence.

Here comes the beast She hails from snowy peaks Lurking beyond an ice cave Howling at the moon (x2) Don’t stray from the path For she hunts all Don’t meet its gaze Lest you become its prey As tall as the trees As strong as the Earth As old as Time Here comes the beast

Thrice the work among men divide A testament to the father’s glory or to mankind A tower to be raised from the ground A brass trio to resound A majestic stallion of epic proportions Shrouded in mystery Its ebony coat and long mane Glistening in the moonlight Where does it come from? Where does it come from? Whom has sent it? Sent it to us. The beast was untameable, Yet the father’s hand it let touch its muscular side And put a noose around its neck Its strength was used for God A fabulous steed of legend it was, And the epitome of a workhorse, a workforce Did not feel tiredness, hunger or thirst And pulled wagons, from dusk till dawn Where did it come from? Where did it come from? Who has sent it to us? Hooves planted in the ground Like pillars of stone Hooves hammering the ground Sent to us to curse or to atone? Sent from hell to help mankind Yet a price to be paid A soul taken Upon the deed’s completion A dark stone planted in the ground, like a horse’s hoof A covenant betrayed Running around, free from the noose Furious, wild eyed The last stone was never set Countless souls have walked through these arches And the beast still roams Awaiting the chance to reap its reward Oh careless one, drop that stone you took And cast it out to the river Lest you ride on the dark horse A vision, An omen to be sealed Forever
