In but Not Of
The musk anoints my nose Subtle expressions, body languages, just intuition, predators mission As pungent a musk as noses could thrust Like dogs in the night not guided by sight Fasten the screws tighter The only thing that they see is a cloud that looks like smoke By the time they go to scream they can only utter croaks Pray, but not for me Pray, the only way you know how Pray, but not for me Pray, you fucking coward

Where people live and congregate they concentrate a force Billowing out in hues of light, gaseous cloud of milk A psychic silt only seen by demonic festering filth Energy of human life, combined it radiates Like a beacon to the parasites A cornucopia on a plate The skyline it glows with flickering souls Above broken glass and the roads and the tolls Some come from the sea, some live in the trees Some smell the blood by the break of the breeze Staring down the bowels of my soul Consuming subconscious grief Do they even stop to breathe?

Emptiness, charred remnant, dying embers flicker against skies Toxic, glowing, poisoned trails of vapor Everything here has died, nothing remains vibrant Humanity eradicated, existence decimated Cadaverous fragrance lingers, diseased soil stained with crimson Hideous remains drift on an ocean of blood, dripping Burning cities slowly melting down to mud Life vanquished, death triumphant overall Sparks of life forever extinguished in this dead landscape Lifeless forms forgotten, wasteland Destitute, desperate - a shell of a planet Sparks of life forever vanquished in this dead landscape And now the dust swells to bury it further Slowly building in t he system, a distinction (desolation) No one knows that I'm lying here forever I try to say it but words are vacant My patience (desolation) In my scars, the words have been carved, rigid Stepping on thoughts that fly forward Vomit floods puddle, its up to my own eyes

Running through the marshes, tangled in the tall grass Waking up the neighbors, scattered thoughtless Stagnant in my process, lackluster but obsessed I use them as objects, decayed mortals Senseless indulgence Awakening the animal taking lives behind my mask A sense of warped virility That slowly takes my soul in its grasp Soak my clothes, covered in kerosene No one knows thee roads that I have seen Cut off the nose, the toes, fingers, and the teeth A bloody ghost, some soap, and a rosary To cope with these I smoke the green openly An open sea of blood from a flowing leak I only see the hope from a broken peak Croaking from my cheeks, I don't speak

A most delicate day by tragedy only a chapter away The breeze blowing her hair The wind brings the stench of doubt so near Serene, the sky cloudless A dream, but deep inside I fear this The feelings, they trouble me, anxiety Vomit pools inside my mouth It spills forward into her face She gasps and runs in disgrace I grasp for towels to clean this place Now I know it's real and not a dream

Even below all these rivers, peoples talking baits the ocean Even below all these rivers, on the side a hive has loomed To see the truth in your mind they destroyed my life Sacred trips I enjoined to shelter me Positioned time distantly in design You've listened to what I've once known Decayed looseleaf is used up and failing Without much sleep a droll visitor upon your stoop In time a tall monster will dream of me without aiming Even below all these rivers

In but not of It's almost reaching to me And then it's always speaking If people only knew the frog that's in my throat was leaking And then it's almost reaching And then it's always speaking If people only knew the frog that's in my throat Was all a dream deep in my brain

Fallen down to earth where they feast on the flies Ravenous downturned faces who you meet at your demise They watched you the moment you were born from the sky That's why they can't look you in the eyes The smell of burning feathers and greasy hair A cauldron burning beyond a vacant stare Leaving as it arrived, a shifting in the air Never letting on, as though they didn't care They're playing both sides until the middle tears Some things can only be done by fasting and prayer Fasting and prayer A gateway in a name, a name older than any other Be careful what you're bathing in Because it could leave you smothered In your life, sacrifice to cleanse your hands of clamping vice These poltergeists breathe cold as ice They foretell of the afterlife

It takes so many forms It races at the speed of human evolution Of time, of technology An ever-present promise trivializing threats No way to predict, only place bets Over and over but never revealed The gate only works one way then it is sealed Many have wondered, others have preached Only one way to find out, that's to reach With one hand open into the dark You try to feel and grasp The other hand won't let you go Though you beg to dis-attach Death invents itself

The ever-present promise The pacing of technology, by the the time it is harnessed It's old and obsolete Much of the same with philosophy To be whole but not complete Predicting the threat of what's next A trivial epithet (Life succumb to life) With one hand open into the dark You try to feel and grasp The other hand now let's go As life succumbs to life
