No longer restrained A demon roused within me Dreaded and despised Culture's failure Naked appetite Wears through my tired mask Consumed and enthralled With personal gratification Daring destruction without regret Intoxicated to pursue my capricious lust In clear daylight Indifferent to good or evil The heaving wind Expires against my cheek When nature turns On heedless rhythms Ancient and blind Without providence or end The future deceives The past is regretted Your complacent luck Beneath death's shadow Deaf to peril My atrocity leaves its scar A torment Of guilt with relief A cautionary tale The gift of terror
